According to 9to5Mac’s “hunch”, which we would hope to mean anonymous reliable source, Sony BMG will soon become the second major label to get on board with Apple’s iTunes Plus offering. iTunes Plus, for those [...]

While the rest of us wait around for the official release, some lucky Devs have tossed caution to the wind and ignored the binding clauses of their NDA to leak some screenshots of the upcoming iPhone 2.2. firmware update to the world. Among the goodies include a look at a redesign of the App Store [...]

You know, with all the deserved hype about Android being much more open than the iPhone’s platform, one must wonder what security will be like. When iPhone developers starting coming out about Apple’s NDA on developing apps, everyone seemed to give old Steve-O the stink-eye. Add to this the fact that developers and consumers [...]

As if Google-owned YouTube wasn’t making enough money in ad revenue, they’ve decided to start peddling music and games for a little monetary boost. For now, it’s an experimental project and they’ll be attempting to sell music, videos, TV shows… wait, iTunes, anyone? Actually, it seems YouTube will be partner with iTunes and Amazon so [...]

There will be a ruling by the Copyright Royalty Board (oooh, sounds pretentious) today regarding whether iTunes will have their royalties charges raised from 9 cents to 15 cents per track. Eddy Cue, the VP of Apple iTunes states:
“If [iTunes] was forced to absorb any increase in the … royalty rate, the result would be [...]
These days, it seems having your own music store or app store is all the rage. Sony Ericsson wants in on the party and is going to release its own music store in just a few weeks. The only problem is SE’s new Play Now Plus (the music store, duh) is only going to be [...]
You definitely have to take this one at face value, but there’s an internal document floating around inside AT&T pitting the iPhone 3G against the upcoming BlackBerry Storm. We had our doubts about this document at first, but we received it from two independent sources now, so it’s legit! Here’s some of the smack-talking AT&T [...]

We just got a tip from an Apple retail store employee letting us know that the rumors about in-home iPhone activation are true. The only catch is, this isn’t the old system of activating iPhones. It’s merely something to help reduce the amount of time it takes to activate and sign up new or existing [...]

Smart playlists are sooooo 2007 - all the cool kids use genius playlists. Late last month, Kevin Rose shared some Apple rumors with us that have since gained a pretty huge amount of momentum. The iPod nano and Touch revisions are all but confirmed and it looks like pricing will be revisited as well. Then [...]
