Qik announced on Friday that it has expanded outside the realm of smartphones and will now support J2ME feature phones, a.k.a. non-smartphones. Lucky owners of the following Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones can download an alpha version of the Qik client to test it out:

After last night’s revelation that the Bold is finally going to drop on AT&T, it’s kind of hard to step back for a second and soak in the rest of the list. We did however, want to point something out that really is pretty big news. We’ve had a good idea that AT&T would be [...]
In an ongoing royalty dispute, it would appear as though Qualcomm and Nokia have reached a settlement agreement. The CDMA chipset maker is going to receive $2.3 billion from Nokia as part of the deal and while that is a ton of cash not to be scoffed at, the current recession and bailouts make [...]

Nokia released its interim report today covering performance in Q3 of this year. Long story short, it wasn’t pretty. Nokia had predicted a slow third quarter and a slow third quarter it had indeed. Market share was down, shipments were down, sales were down and profit was down. Perhaps the most alarming statistic is Nokia’s [...]

It looks like the FCC just let the cat out of the bag and Nokia’s upcoming candy-coated shooter is headed for the US packing 850/1900 UMTS for use with AT&T’s 3G network. We first saw the N79 back in June and since then, opinions have been pretty consistent: It looks weird. The specs are definitely [...]

Nokia may have dropped BlackBerry Connect support on its devices, essentially removing them from consideration amongst a pretty large number of enterprise customers in North America and elsewhere, but a new update from CommonTime may have some businesses thinking Nokia all over again. Businesses that have chosen Lotus Notes as their email, calendar and collaboration [...]
Nokia adds another device to their plain standard affair phone lineup (as compared to the flurry of E and N series devices out). Called the 7100s, or perhaps 7100 Supernova, Nokia’s little slider looks interesting enough, but geared more towards those who want to avoid all the flash, buttons, and complexity of smartphones. The details [...]

Well, 5800 XpressMusic, it was surely fun while it lasted. You excited hoards of fanboys, you were the catalyst of 3 million blog posts containing the hated phrase “iPhone Killer” in the title and you will always be remembered as Nokia’s virgin effort in terms of touchscreen S60 handsets. We just didn’t think we would [...]

Looks like good ol’ Uncle Ted has decided not to sell the Nokia E71 on his discount Fido network but rather on his flagship and namesake Rogers network. Primed for a Q4 launch, the choice of Rogers over Fido is a bit questionable for a few reasons. The Canadian market for such devices, while growing [...]
