According to a post from last night, Howard Forums member StandardsDT decided to go [...]

Following AT&T’s recent and repeated claim that it is on schedule with a 3G femtocell solution to be released before the year is out, Sprint’s VP of device and technology development Mathew Oommen has officially thrown down the gauntlet:
Just like Sprint was the first with 2G, we’ll definitely be the first in the 3G space [...]

Following the Verizon Tour pre-order debacle and subsequent redemption, it looks like Sprint is a bit more firm in its position. Sorry Sprint folks, but it looks like you’ll have to hit up your local Sprint store or telesales on the day of release if you plan on grabbing a 9630. Twitter user @srdoherty, who [...]

Following our post yesterday and the ensuing outcry, it looks like Verizon had a change of heart where BlackBerry Tour pre-orders are concerned. Are you a current Verizon Wireless subscriber whose spirits were crushed upon learning that pre-orders were only open to new customers? Fret not, future Tour addicts, as Verizon’s site is singing a [...]

Verizon Wireless confirmed today what a lot of excited and angry Verizon Wireless customers knew already — The BlackBerry Tour is currently not available for pre-order if you are upgrading your current line. It’s not a random ordering glitch or a problem with Verizon’s website as many initially thought. Front and center on the Tour [...]
Folks who scooped up the HTC Ozone from Verizon Wireless or the HTC Snap from Sprint may be pleased to learn that an official upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 may be in your future. According to documents published on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group’s website, a Windows Mobile 6.5 variant of the HTC Cedar, codename [...]
Still wondering why we steered clear of that July 20th rumor? Sprint has made it official folks, the BlackBerry Tour will be launching with Sprint on Sunday, July 12th. Pricing lines up with Verizon at $199.99 after instant rebate but there will be a mail-in rebate of some kind to deal with. More info as [...]
A Qik video posted to YouTube shows off the many sides of the Nokia 6790 Surge, codenamed Mako, headed soon to AT&T. The unusually shaped handset has already been spec’d and exclusively photographed in detail of course, so the only real takeaway beyond the release name of the handset is the fact that it will [...]

Yeah, we’ve already confirmed that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be dropping on T-Mobile next month but while the Tour trolls are occupied with a flurry of new fodder, why not take a moment to enjoy it once again? Mmmmm, optical trackpad. T-Mobile customers are often forced to wait what seems like ages for hot [...]

Despite the fact that BES admins can put IT policies into effect that physically prohibit their use, many companies, organizations and governments (and gym locker rooms) flat our refuse to give their employees a BlackBerry that is equipped with a camera. With the 88xx series devices being the only camera-less BlackBerrys still on the market [...]

We’re not sure how much doubt a person could have had before, but in the interest of being crystal clear, Verizon Wireless will make the BlackBerry Tour available online and in stores on July 12th for $199 with a two year agreement. You can preorder the device starting from this moment on.
Thanks, Stang68!

It looks like Boost Mobile subscribers won’t be the only ones enjoying this homely entry-level messaging handset. We first saw the Motorola Clutch i465 get official late last month on Boost, becoming the Sprint-owned carrier’s first QWERTY handset. Sprint already has a viable QWERTY option in its Nextel line of course with the BlackBerry 8350i, [...]
