Exclusive: Verizon Wireless Summer device catalog leaked

vzw-summer-catalog

One of our Verizon Wireless connects sent us in a pretty nice document just moments ago… It’s Verizon Wireless’ summer device catalog, and we have it in its entirety. What’s most surprising is the inclusion of the Motorola Droid 2, a device Verizon Wireless has not announced, taking basically center stage on some of the pages. Thanks to the Summer / Fall catalog, we do have some confirmed specifications on the Motorola Droid 2: 8GB memory card preinstalled, 5 megapixel camera, 3G Mobile Hotspot functionality, and 1GHz CPU. There is also confirmation of the Pantech Jest, the Samsung Intensity 2 makes an appearance, as well as the Verizon Wireless Salute, and finally the Samsung Gusto rounds off the feature phones. The entire device catalog is in our gallery ready to go!

Just before the release of the Droid X2 in January.

    Still waiting on EVO review…

Nobody’s yet mentioned that the Droid 2 has an image of Bejeweled on the screen. Since that’s not yet available for Android, I’d count that as a pretty major sub-story! I can’t wait for Pop Cap games to come to Android.

So the only updates to Droid 2 are Gunmetal finnish, HDMI out, 1ghz processor and double Ram. Hmm, looks liek I will be in line at 8am at my local VZW store for the Droid X. Not missing a front facing camera for video chat but it looks as though VZW is waiting for 4g to play that game. Droid 2 not a big enough step up fom the Orig Droid to get my upgrade. I’ll take the larger screen of the Droid X with basically the same performance specs as the Droid 2. Coulda been a conteder. Strom 3? Now thats funny

There’s no HDMI out on the Droid2.

But yeah, that’s the difference. Basically they got the same internals.

Droid X has 8MP camera, HDMI out, no keyboard, bigger screen.

Droid 2 has 5MP camera, no HDMI out, keyboard, smaller screen.

Curious why they would list the Droid X and Droid 2 as “coming soon” when the Droid X will be out in 36 hours. That makes this catalog out of date in 37 hours. I also thought during the Droid X press event, they mentioned 32gb microsd support, yet the comparison table states up to 16gb.

Still don’t know whether or not to go from my Touch Pro2 to the Droid 2, but it sure would help if I knew of any other physical keyboard devices coming to Verizon before the end of the year. HTC perhaps? Decisions, Decisions….

Huge store changeouts are coming for Monday…when you change your magalogs, signage, and everything else, sometimes what gets sent to the print company is a bit dated.

The Pantech Jest could have been confirmed previously since it’s been selling on the website for at least a few days…

Who knows this whole “leaked” catalog could simply be something to trick everyone into thinking the Fascinate isn’t coming out..(we don’t even know if this came FROM Verizon). The “Coming Soon” for the Droid X is the dead give away..

I can’t believe there is no Samsung Fascinate on this. VZW is making a HUGE mistake by letting this go. Man oh man, people want this phone and can get it on EVERY OTHER NETWORK in the next month. How they cannot be concerned about that is really shocking ..

    TinkerDan says:

I have figured it out. The Droid X comes out July 15th, then over 30 days later, the Droid 2 comes out. Then I would bet over 30 days later, the Samsung Fascinate comes out. Why? People buy a phone like the DroidX, return it, get a different phone and just keep phone hopping. They are spacing them out. I bet the Fascinate is made and sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

    Two things.

If you are going to have scans of a catalog with information people want to read… Then make sure the scans are large enough and readable.

Drunk Bowling, Do you hate the company or the products when it comes to Motorola?

Also what is the status on MotoBlur on the DX and D2?

    what are we confirming?

Verizon really needs to start having more of the new release phones in stock! What the hell is going on with new release phones on back order? This is bad business marketing!
