References to new iPhones, new iPod touch and new iPad found!
While today marks the first day the Apple iPad went on sale, it also gives us a glimpse into the upcoming stuff from Cupertino. One of our connects has been digging around the iPad filesystem and found references to the following:
- iPhone3,2
- iPhone3,3
- iPod4,1
- iProd2,1
The first two, iPhones, the second is an iPod touch, and the last? A major revision to the Apple iPad. As if things couldn’t get more exciting…

Have u ever stop to think, that mght be the vzn iPhone?? I’m sure they will have one this year since AT&T is embracing other platforms. Just a tho!

On the contrary I think what should we be focusing our energy now, is not about some charging hiccup, but with the discovery of new apps on the iPad. Mine is here

In case you didn’t know, MS actually has been working on a tablet since before the iSlate rumors even started, It’s called the Courier and it’s looking pretty good.
I think I’d prefer the Courier, it just looks more useful and, dare I say, slicker.
Besides, Apple’s “Control Freak” tendencies are just a bit too wierd for me. (Opera Mini for Iphone anyone?)
if the rumor is true that vzw is getting an iphone of their own, it it possible they are getting an ipad as well? could iprod2 be vz’s?
I’d really like to see how VZW would price their data service with a crippled version of an iPad and whether or not it’d be forced?
They won’t even let you activate a BlackBerry or other smart phone (even if you pay full freaking price for it elsewhere) unless you subscribe to a $30 or higher data plan.
Maybe their iPad will have those red bars on the top and bottom of the display and you’ll only be allowed to surf sites within their VCAST portal?
My wife called verizon instead of going to the store and got her “smart phone” activated w/o the data plan since she doesn’t need it but really liked the phone. Not a big deal to get around at all.

You shouldn’t have to “jailbreak” a device to make it do what you need, or want, it to do. Love Apple, but their phone is just not for me.

To be honest, an iPhone becomes truly useful once it is jailbroken. I work with both Android (several different devices) and the iPhone, and I prefer the Nexus One.

Seriously guys. We can just focus on the gadgets Apple is offering right now and throw away with the cowboy stuff iProd. On a lighter note, I would love it if you suggest good games for the latest iPad. Like, right now, within my arsenal is a good puzzle game! If you have tried Tetris or Bejeweled it might interest you to know that there is a better option for those games – StarFaces – certainly one of the best iPad app. This is my new favorite ipad puzzle game.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the iProd is some sort of “high tech” stick they sell for $300…
