More BlackBerry Slider images

BBSliderHD1

Remember that BlackBerry slider? BBLeaks got a hold of some higher resolution pics, and there’s even a BlackBerry 8900 thrown in next to it for size comparisons. Hit the break for one more picture and to jump on over for the rest of the shots! Have these new pictures changed what you think of what’s said to be pretty early hardware?

    VERY UGLY!!!

Looks like the old Audiovox 6600 that totally flopped. Do you remember that device?? The one with volatile memory, the one that you couldn’t turn off because if you did you would lose all you memory.

Well I think this is a step back in time, rather than a progression, in terms of design.

I really don’t think it looks that bad. I kinda like it, actually big plus if that screen is a touch screen. On another note seriously if you think that blackberry is going to give in to styling like an iphone or some other teenage age profile you are crazy blackberry’s are for business people and those who don’t want to use their phone for only games and social networks.

      Dear Tyler,

I agree with you regarding BB business users. I prefer a phone that is focused on productivity and communications. Also, it can be made secure by corporate IT departments.

I heard it is going be named panther…but don’t judge it on the name too quickly…the phone is actually being made by Odeon. It’s illegal in nine countries… Yep, it’s made with bits of real panther, so you know it’s good.

Call me crazy but I like it! I just got rid of my G1 for a 9700 and there are thigs I miss about the G1 (and no I wont go all android crazy on you) I miss the decent sized touch screen. I think this blends what I love about the G1 and my 9700. There are times when I wish I could just touch the screen instead of using the track pad. Even with a touch screen, I think a track pad is a must have for those small precise selections! I like the fact that RIM is looking to make a device with both a touch screen and a full keyboard. I have had landscape keyboards and while they are comfortable to type on as someone else mentioned you can’t go one handed with them. I would totally pick one of these up if it came out.

I’m with you on the landscape keyboard I will never get one just because you can’t go one handed. I love the 9700 keyboard but it could be bit bigger like on the old Bold.

Looks like everything but a Blackberry.

Palm, Audiovox, HP IPAQ, in other words BLAH

      Hey Ghostnyc,

There are limitations to any design. Only so much can be done with landscape or portrait QWERTY keyboards, even with virtual ones.

      So,where are your designs ?

I wanted a big screen but Bold style keyboard it’s a must for me I hate typing on a virtual screen. This look like it has it all I wan and need in a phone if it has Webkit browser.

I’m not quite sure about this particular configuration, but I would definitely buy a touchscreen BB that had a trackpad and a qwerty keyboard that a person could use with one hand thats for sure

YES YES YES…I have been saying for a year. Physical buttons on a touch screen in portrait rather then landscape. I am gonna say it though…needs android.

I really hope that’s not a real release candidate. It’s so ugly, it’s already out of style.

I kinda like it, but I saw a raw concept of the “slider” berry a couple of months ago and the concept looks GREAT. They always do, it was the same design as this, but they lost the track pad for the “sure press” touch screen, and it had the original bold physcial qwerty pad. Sounded awesome. But I am afraid if will have the 9700 pad and a track pad as well. Sometimes they should just stick with the original concept!!!!

I don’t know how I feel about this, I usually don’t judge a phone till I get it in my hands so I won’t jump to an exaggerated gesture yet, it’s not too bad, I do really feel like playing around with it though…and please RIM, new browser!

I was hoping for almost a Bold 9000 clone with a touchscreen. I’m not a huge fan of the sliders, I just feel it increases the chances of something breaking due to the integration of more parts.

I don’t want to judge too harshly, but it doesn’t seem like a device I would want to own. However, I said the same thing about the Droid and I would love to have one of those now. I think the idea will grow on everyone. I remember when the Bold 9000 came out and everyone said that it was too huge and the OS was virtually the same, just with a different look. It’s a classic device now that consumers stand by.

I am blackberry fan, but this design is outdated. I think that the Storm 2 design with a slider keyboard would look so much better than this.

ive never owned a bb but i have had the opportunity to use both the storm 1 and 2. i never saw any defects with the design of the storm 2 at all. my only concern ever has been the software! the only reason why i have yet to buy a bb is because of the all around lag! the hell with a new phone, when will the new software kick in?!

being a hardcore bb user i kinda like the design all the more coz the qwerty aint a landscape and i can type on it while driving.. but what i REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED IS TO SEE BLACKBERRY ADD A VIDEO CALLING CAMERA! HIGH TIME RIM! CMON U GOTTO ADD A VIDEO CALL CAMERA IN THE FRONT OF THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!

    Matthew Landry says:

I think it looks nice but It looks too low grade to be part of the Storm series or any of RIMs high-end smartphones. At first I thought this would be the new Pearl (Slide), but new Perl screenshots have already emerged. I don’t know what this will be but it looks pretty good, I just hope RIM doesn’t screw another new phone like the Storm.

I wish that the slider keyboard was like the Droid for the Storm 3. Then it would look much cooler and be in land scape mode.
