LG Arena GT950, mid-level touchscreen candybar gets spied on it way to AT&T

LG_GT950_AT&T1

Not everyone wants a super duper smartphone, some people prefer the simplicity of a feature phone and it looks like LG may be sending such a phone to AT&T. A series of leaked spy shots show a customized LG Arena KM900 sporting AT&T branding.  The GT950 will feature a 3 inch, 800×480 touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, 8GB of internal memory and LG’s whizbang S-Class UI. No word on pricing or launch date but from the finished look of the product it could be quite soon. Hit the jump for a few more spy shots.

    Well the LG Shine 2 is $120 AFTER rebate, so I’m not expecting any reasonable price for this device.

      @damiaking:

      Um . . . how do you know this phone sucks? Have you seen the AT&T version? Have you played with it? To say that AT&T sucks is ok, since we have all used it, but to say a phone that’s not even out yet sucks is just idiotic.

      I do not know you, but I know you’re a moron from your post. How do I know this, you may ask. Simple really; I took your single comment here and made up a judgement without merit that you’re a moron. Love that logic!

    Why is the bezel so big? It makes the screen look smaller and the phone look cheaper.

    These phones are already dead before hitting the market, specially this year with Android everywhere raising the bar for all.

    Anybody know if the FM transmitter is still on-board?
    Repeated specs mention it but any proof would be welcome.

    Sorry this phone does lack a lot of qualities. I bought it for $344.99 brand new in Korea roughly 5 months ago and used it in the states. I was expecting the phone to be almost seamless at the price it was and looking at its statistics.

    The button to unlock the phone/power button is tiny and hard to locate every fricken’ time you have to unlock it. The phone processing speed is slow, for example, flicking through your contacts its jittery and well, crap. The new S-Class UI is nothing revolutionary at all, if anything it makes things more difficult to navigate through the most simple things, like your contacts ‘ARGG’. The stupid thing would also crash often doing anything that demanded a little processing power.

    I won’t get started with the sync software the comes with the LG phone, it is a complete nightmare and everyone I’ve spoken to on forums have had similar issues.

    On the positive side, the 5.0 mega pix camera with LED flash is decent, and it takes ok pictures. The video quality also is ok, and there are a handful of neat features like the FM transmitter (like a built in iTrip) and the 8GB of storage.

    All-in-all I wouldn’t pay more than $200 for the phone or even $100 with rebate. It lacks a lot.

    I would compare it way bellow any HTC, Google, iPhone, or any Android powered phone.

    It’s kinda neat, but again like trying to run Windows XP on a computer built in 1998, it might work but jittery, and not smooth like all the competing phone on the market today.

    Check out Amazon’s wireless website. With a 2-yr contract, AT&T sells the phone for $200. Amazon sells it for a CENT. (also with a 2-yr contract).
