If Google really wanted to kick ATT and Apple in the balls, they would make an 850/1900 3g model and give it away to ATT customers who sent their existing phone in. That might show ATT that we really would care for an android instead of iphone.

maybe you meant to say that we send in IPHONES not just any old phone, because otherwise it’s really just saying, “android isn’t worth a penny to me but i’d love a free one”!
even if you meant “iphone” you’re missing a critical point: at&t owns you if you’ve got an iphone.
want to send a msg to at&t? pay out the ass for a phone and don’t give them any bit of the $$$. buy an unlocked phone and use it on their network, taking advantage of 3g uncapped mobile highspeed goodness while paying only a paltry $15/mo. watch iphone users squirm as they describe how they pay $30/mo for the same thing. msg to AT&T: you’re users aren’t cheap, they’ll spend lots of cash, but not on your crappy phones and not on your stupidly priced data rates.
keep the msg fresh if/when they decide to increase your data costs by saying, “well, i’m not on contract so i guess i can take my business AND MY PHONE elsewhere. thanks for being a dumb pipe, even though you weren’t willing at the time”.
good luck. and if you dont like this msg just show put me in my place by accepting something free from someone else whilst still reading my msg…..

Look at the pics, for sure att or tmobile, verizon uses diff service icon. Darn I cant stand t mob or att . Coverage stinks. I guess im going back to my droid on big red. Dosnt google pay attention to the coverage maps, guess not, guess you cant hear me now google.
I agree, with what few choices we have for reception how do these wonderul(?) phones expect to sell?
unbelievable! vz gets the droid, but hints the passion- delayed. then google says we got a flagship device and vz says no thank you; we’ll stick to shorthanding our customers like usual. VZ if you’re going to increase unfair ETF fees & strip us of our paychecks with surgage/ service fees, the least you can do is offer us the best devices. How about you quit wasting money on lame commercials and offer a wider variety of phones- you sob!! can anyone that works for vz read consumer reports!!?!? I HATE YOU BIG RED!

Sheesh… what a waste of space, all you whiners complaining about lack of coverage or signal in your area.
Guess what?! Every carrier has signal problems in certain areas.
If you can’t get a particular carrier’s signal, do what I do. It’s quite simple and easy to do. Sign up with a carrier whose signal can be received.
Oh, and I can’t stand the other whining group, those who feel shortchanged because their carrier won’t be getting a phone they want.
Who gives a rats pitoot that you can’t get a phone. Like the coverage whiners, either stay put and buy what your carrier sells, or switch to another, so you can get the phone you want. (A dumb move to do that, but go ahead, so you can stay consistent, dumb and a whiner.)
Nice phone. However, does anybody really thinks it will be a Google phone? All these rumors seem to be a campaign, most likely the phone will be released under HTC logo. Any Android phone may be called as “Google phone”. Just a casuistry which creates the intrigue.
The 4 color boot up screen matching the Chrome/google colors makes me think that it is going to be an actual “google” phone.
What makes it an “actual” Google phone? The G1 says “Powered by Google” on the back. Isn’t that a Google phone?

They call them “Google” phones because the run the AndroidOS which was developed by google. Any device running the AndroidOS could technically I guess be considered a “Google” phone. HTC made the hardware, Google developed the software.

Im so sick of all these droid users trying to bash every other android phone out there, PEOPLE!!!! we are all part of the same android family, divert ya anger towards apple and the iPhone

I’m a Droid user… and I think that phone looks pretty bad ass. I’m glad that it appears T-Mo is getting the largest benefits from it. But I’m sad that T-Mo is so far behind everyone on 3G rollout and likely will be behind on the 4G, which may mean this phone can’t reach the heights it should… but their 3.5G might just be good enough to play catch up properly moving forward.
Technicaly Tmobile isnt behind anymore, its pretty much passed at&t because not only are they getting 7.2mbps rolled out first but next year were getting HSPA+. As far as LTE, that isnt gonna mean much because the technology hast been standardized yet so LTE is still in the testing phases. (There trying to optimize it and find a way to make calls using it so every company in the world will be on the same standard) Also Verizon wants to deploy it next year but is they do mange that, theyre not gonna have cellphones to use the tech until 2012 or 2013. Pretty by then LTE tech will be way cheaper and Tmobile will deploy it super fast.
Yeah, that’s the word on the street… but it’d be painfully easy to make a cell phone with LTE for data-only, as 1x is still the best voice network in our country.
It’s a very plain looking phone.
This is a beautiful phone, i currently own a rooted g1 with android 2.0, thank you cyanogen and others who contributed to being able to make the G1 a very powerful smartphone, but the Nexus one is beautiful. I want a droid badly, but verizon data and voice plans are through the roof, and they dont even include unlimited texting to any network..droid and Verizon does but T-mobile and the Google Phone will do it better!!!

Of all the crap I just finished reading (posts) more than 50% was false info, or retarted blasts against carriers because you think you are not gonna get this phone (or something like it). All I can say is, just wait!! GSM boys got their info. Time will tell who got pissed off for no reason. Late

GSM Networks rock. I hope Google and HTC have the wisdom to break the trend and put a enough 3G radios in this thing to run on either T-Mobile or AT&T.
I really hope sprint gets this I want it sooooooo bad this will make the second sexiest sprint android to go for sprint cuz the hero is very sexy. You guys should have a giveaway one it comes out

from all the ‘news’ that’s been going around, i m beginning to think the Google is just helping HTC to test the phone. probably HTC and Google is just working very closely on this project.
Nexus One could be just the name of a project… after all, nexus means something like linking a series of things or convergences.

Nice!!! I hate to have to think that this will replace my current HTC HD2 that I’ve owned for less than 3 weeks.
Something I wrote for you all to read, when you’re not bombarded with the onslaught of neXus info.
‘Twas the night before neXus, when all through the house
Not a gadget was stirring, not even a mouse;
The cords were plugged in the outlet with care,
In hopes that neXus ONE soon would be there;
The iPhones were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of apple-cores danced in their heads;
And Apple in her ‘kerchief, and Steve in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
iPhones sprang from bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window they flew like a flash,

But Google itself, and new mobile phone gear,

Looks a lot like the Eris with a nicer screen and no physical call and end buttons.
Ugh, I’ll pass on the trackball. If only it didn’t have a trackball.
The side profile shot shows the trackball protruding quite a bit from the face of the device. As a former BB owner, I can say with conviction that trackballs fail. The newer, optical ones are superior, if for no other reason because there are no moving parts to clog/get dirty.
My Iphone is better than all of these smart phones put together and after I had it jailbroken I can make it look like any phone on the market and have it run multiple apps in the background it can do everything and I get great coverage Android sux lol
