HTC Bravo is the HTC Passion, will launch in the US in January 2010?

htc-bravo-press

The HTC Bravo made its appearance in HTC’s recently leaked roadmap with a launch date of April 2010. Rocking almost identical specifications, the Bravo is the European variant of our beloved HTC Passion. Now that the name game is out of the way, we can deliver some not so good news about the Passion. The latest rumor making the rounds suggests that the Passion is now on track for a January 2010 launch in the States while the Bravo will launch three months later with T-Mobile in Europe. As painful as it may be, you may want to cross that Passion off your holiday wish list and replace it with something that is “real” and not still just a rumor. To console yourself, you can gaze longingly at smooth curves and the sleek styling that appears in the latest leaked image of this Android handset and dream about what could have been.

They can. It’s known as the HD2. Seriously, dude let WinMo go to the light… It wants to cross over to the other side b/c it’s old and tired. There’s multiple platforms out there that are 10x easier – IF you’re not afraid to learn something new

So buy the next iPhone; I’m certain you do it every year. How gratifying it must be to drop $300 just to say you got the new one. And oh, yeah this one you can change the wallpaper!!!! Groundbreaking shit. Please do the gene pool a favor, and follow the other mouth-breathing lemmings over the precipice….

Dwayne has never had a real smartphone nor has he ever had Android. Ahhh…. iPhone fan boys and their closed source, 1 app at a time OS. Yeah, it’s pretty, and well integrated into the hardware, but piss poor call quality and a being on a crappy network to boot makes HTC Android devices look pretty good from this side of the pond… and I had a 3G and a 3GS.

Even though I have a Hero on Sprint, if this phone ends up being the shyt, and ends up on Verizon Wireless, I’d definitely switch and sell the Hero to pay off the ETF.

      hey! thats my name. lol

I have the hero, (sprint) and it works great but this is like the ritz if the hero was motel 6… I mean this thing is BEAST. I’m tired and bored of the iPhone os. Ive had every gen of the iPhone AND iPod touch, all jailbroken… (waist of money) and i got bored… And if this came to sprint.. (pleaaaase) I will upgrade no matter the cost.

oh and maybe the “new” iPhone will have a new design, some coll animations, better internals, and wallpaper.. and if they dont even give the choice of wallpaper in their next OS… omg I’m going to laugh.

Android just got one hell of a sales boom and I can see the true open source phone soon obliterating the iPhone. ( not that it already hasn’t)

I just returned my droid eris today at the verizon store. Loved it but want to get a faster phone with a larger screen. On the receipt it all phones purchased between November 15th and December 14th can be returned or exchanged through January 13, 2010. Does anyone think that means a new phones will come out soon after that? I hope so. Don’t want to be stuck with my awful pearl too much longer

Go look up how Hyundai and Kia have marketed their brands in the states, they were initially “cheap” and with the now industry standard 100k mile warranty back when you were getting ripped a new one by BMW, thank goodness you get free oil changes for life now….now that they have established reliability they are pushing out cars that run BMW’s into the ground across the board. Dont reference Porsche please, its out of your league, just like HTC and Android, im sure you use a search engine like Bing or some sad Safari attempt that uses Google but never tells you….just like your carriers awesome claim at 3G coverage which once the truth came out, they sought protection from a court to hush the truth…

No Hyundai or Kia will ever run a BMW into the ground, go drive a Kia or Hyundai, and then a BMW, then you will understand how stupid your statement was.

Really, a Kia or Hyundai is better than a BMW? I would never spend 30+ on a Kia as Hyundai. Those are cars are still cheap and poorly constructed.

Just curious..just noticed a slight difference on the face plate of the image of the BRAVO posted on dec 6th @ 6.21pm and the one above posted on dec 8th @ 7.30am. The is something like a strip of material running across between the bottom of the screen and the physical keys on the image posted dec 6th but absent on all the other images of the Bravo seen after that…are there two variants of the Bravo or just different face plates??? Either way i wonna get my hands on that baby…i am dying waiting for a killer phone on Tmobile. For the main time i might just grab a Nokia N900, while i w8 for either the Htc Dragon/Passion/Bravo..or what ever they decide to call it when it comes out.

Note to self and others……If there is a fully capable phone that you originally wanted (Droid) then get it because it exists!!! Don’t sit and wait for rumors to pan out becase most don’t and you will be dissapointed like myself.

I could have had the Droid in November but opted to wait for the Passion/Dragon/Whatever device because of all the hyped rumors. I mean how could posts say its coming to Verizon first on Black Friday then Mid-December then early January to finally not at all.

I could be wrong and will own up to it, but it doesn’t look good for those that are waiting for the Passion/Dragon device on Verizon. First, the Nexus One has the same specs as those aforementioned devices and is GSM not CDMA as Verizon rejected it. Second, the Droid is the flagship phone right now and is selling just fine. Third, another report shows three more smartphones are being release in early ‘10 with none being the Passion/Dragon.

If it does come or some other Snapdragon processor phone to Verizon, it looks like its down the road in ‘10 and I’m tired of waiting. So it looks like Droid does for me!!! Thanks for reading this long post of pent-up phone frustration.

I got the Pro 2 for free during USCC’s Black Friday special… took it back a week later because when I synced it to my home PC I kept getting blue screen warnings about how permanent damage to the PC could occur. the Newton rings that appeared on the resistive screen and poor battery life. This Passion / Bravo has a 1/2 inch larger capasitive touch screen with a much better view [and no Newton rings to worry about in the future], a 5 megapixal camera vs 3.2, and a better processor, and a longer battery life. Glad I waited.
