HTC Hero lookin’ like device crosses FCC’s desk

Device1

Well, what do we have here? The FCC has photographed and documented this GSM handset from an unknown manufacturer in preparation for approval. From the spec sheet and scattered info this is what we gather: quad-band GSM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, TV-Tuner, front and rear facing cameras, LED flash, 1 GB internal storage, 512 MB RAM, and a 1600 mAh battery. The handset is pictured in black as well as a nice shinny white. Now, we can’t say we know what OS this will be sporting, but the resemblance to the Hero and My Touch 3G is duly noted, and you know we’re pulling for Android. We’ve got some more snapshots queued up for you after the bounce. Non-flaming speculation is always welcome in the comments.

I just read through the FCC listing for it. It is a knockoff.
The company name is Harvest Bloom Limited.

Sometimes, companies change their names in an attempt to disguise the impending release of their products – they don’t want blogs like BGR to find out about them.

Just wondering, how come a knock-off company can make a phone with these specs yet the real companies can’t. Front and rear flash, dual SIM, 1600mah battery, TV/FM tuner. I mean what the hell this is a damn knock-off with stuff people wish they had on the real phone.

    Guys,
Look at the diagram. Stylus, Tv tuner w/ ant, D-pad, and a central OK button. This is obviously the much- anticipated Giggle phone, the engineering masterpiece of phone mogul HTG….
    Duuuhhhh….

“HTC Hero lookin’ like device”? Surely headlines deserve something that resembles the English language at least. Sorry for ranting, but I just clicked through thinking this was somehow relevant, and it wasn’t.

Whatever it is, it’s pretty ugly IMO, and the huge chin doesn’t help. And a 1600mAh battery…it’s probably a battery pig. The new Motorola that was just leaked looks much nicer IMO. I’m guessing Android + T-Mobile on this one. They can keep it.

Has anybody other than me noticed that the diagram doesn’t match the phone in the pictures? The buttons are in a completely different layout. The diagram shows the T-Mobile myTouch, not the supersized Hero.

Btw, is it just me, or does this phone look like it has a screen larger than 3.2″? Some are speculating that this is the “Superhero” mentioned in the list of names buried in the Android 2.1 ROM code. It makes sense, since it looks like a Hero on steroids.

Scratch the name thing, it was Supersonic, not Superhero. Guess I read that somewhere else then. On the other hand, there is a HeroCT model listed in that list of names. I wonder what the T means.

It has a “handwriting pen” so it obviously doesn’t have a capacitive screen…
I’m also going to go with knockoff.

Six dislikes??? Seriously??? I was simply stating the obvious, just because you have the latest in hardware doesn’t mean it is tied together well. It is the same as paying $4k plus to Dell for the new laptops running mobile i7 processors. Great hardware, but you are still using windows so what does it matter?

That is a China knock off of the HTC Hero and there’s a version of it in Magic as well. How do I know, cause they are already on sale in my country. The resoulution of the screen sucks.

    @ Jimmie

people wish they had all these specs sure but they also want a good user experience. All those specs don’t really mean much if the device sucks to use. Just ask anyone trying to use most smart phones….. Well all but three anyway.

Sent from one of those three, my first generation iPhone.

iPhone is so cool but is very expensive to get one, So the HTC will be the good choice for me.
