BlackBerry Curve 8520 reportedly making its way into AT&T retail stores

AT&T sure doesn’t miss out on too many BlackBerry offerings, does it? In addition to the original Bold, 9700, and 8900, the Curve 8520 is going to start sharing some of that shelf space pretty soon. It doesn’t have an official release date just yet, only an announcement, but we can only imagine that it’s going to be up for retail pretty soon. After all, the 8520 is already appearing in full AT&T regalia and posing for pictures. If you’ve been wanting a trackpad-equipped BlackBerry for AT&T but the 9700 is on the pricey side, all you need now is a little patience.

This blackberry sucks, it isnt even an uprgrade from the 8900 because it still has edge, it also has a lesser camera than the 8900. The CDMA version at least has 3G, but it isnt REV A so its crap. this curve is completely useless

EVDO Rev 0 is not 3g by world standards. It’s EDGE speed, I now know from experience. Verizon’s map is no different than At&t’s maps. If you look at their map and click on the option to view where you can get Vcast Mobile TV, that is where you will find the Rev A, which is up to par with GSM 3G. It’s laughable. I don’t work in a field that is remotely connected with the phone industry and I could figure this out. Why can’t At&t’s dumbass marketing department?

this debate has sailed already. LTE is the new boxing matchup. LTE versus Wimax versus EDGE 3G

VCast Mobile TV does not run off Verizon network dumbass. This just shows how dumb you really are. If you look at AT&Ts Mobile TV coverage, its the same as Verizons because its off MediaFLOs TV network by Qualcomm. It has nothing to do with EVDO Rev A. EVDO Rev A is on every 3G cell tower.

I was in one of the local AT&T stores and the phone was on display and said “coming soon.” However, next to the lovely Bold it doesn’t even compare! Still hoping I’m a winner BGR!

did we see a ‘curve 8530 REPORTEDLY making its way into stores of verizon’ back in November?
    i dont think so.

its not ‘long awaited’ as the Bold or the Tour to exactly fit the bill for a headliner, but then again, anything is news these days…………….

By 50%… Damn, Verizon is giving them away for free when you buy one. Plus, they are already 50.00 to 100.00 less then AT&T.

This shows you AT&T deosn’t have the money to do big sales like Verizon does.

This device isn’t intended to replace the Bold it is replacing the 8310. So it does no good to compare it to a Bold.

My Premier account is showing it for free. But even for free I can’t bring myself to get it. EDGE is just too slow although WiFi helps… no, I still can’t do it. I’d rather wait for a free offer on refurbished Bold’s that come up from time to time.

Why compare the 8520 to the 9700 or 8900? It’s like comparing a family sedan to a sports car. Its a moot point as it is a different price point aimed at different customers!

I ordered my 8520 and should have it shipped to the house next week. Looking forward to it! CNet.com really liked it. Plenty of other folks liked it too. Looks and sounds like a great phone.
