Motorola Sholes Tablet gets pictured
Man is our Mandarin rusty! Our friends over at Mobile Android China seem to have of the first live photos of the Motorola Sholes Tablet (codename). The specs that we’ve been given to mull over are pretty impressive: 550MHz OMAP TI 3430 processor (same as the DROID), 3.7″ touch screen, 800 x 480 resolution, HDMI port, 3.5mm headset jack, UMTS/HSPA, 8 megapixel camera, and a xenon flash; all running on Android 2.0, probably 2.1 at time of launch. While we’re not exactly thrilled with the blue soft touch finish on the back of the device — Napoleon came and went — we hope this little number makes its way out of Motorola’s R&D department and onto the market here in the States soon, ’cause we likey.Read
I have no idea what this phone looks like after seeing these pictures. I guess I’ll stick with my Droid as December 6th creeps up.
So an all touchscreen Droid? I’m game.
Will this be CDMA or GSM?
Is a full touchscreen DROID (no keyboard), with 8 mpx camera and HDMI port. And the most exciting ANDROID 2.0 maybe 2.1.

If the rumors are correct, then this is headed for T-Mo. This is what they need compete with all the other wireless carriers as far as android goes.

T-mobile has more android phones than any other carrier. They were the first to bring it to market.
Not saying they haven’t slowed down a bit there but its just an odd comment.
Do you have a reference for these rumors? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just trying to find as much information as possible…

No SG. With the DROID being so thin, you can easily forget it even has a keyboard.
Grrr, as one of the only people on here I will take seriously, I agree. When I tried the Droid out I found the on screen keyboard to be just fine and I didn’t even think about opening up the real keyboard other than to see if it was as bad as it looked… and it was.
I think it’s debatable as to how ‘great’ the Droid’s physical keyboard is.
Well the only thing that is ugly about the verizon sholes is the the dumb part at the bottom with the verizon logo. Remove that and it would be a sweet phone.

AT&T is trying to keep Android to a minium on their network. They don;t want anything to take away from the iPhone bankroll. That’s straight from AT&T themselves. They will eventually get a device or 2 but they’re not trying to dive deep into Android

If this comes to TMobile-US.. It will be the first Android phone that is not a joke since the launch of the HTC Hero…

Looks thicker than I thought it would be considering how thin the Droid is WITH a keyboard. I wouldn’t hold my breath for T-Mob, sorry guys. T-Mobile Europe will get it, but should also be VZW also, Q1?
I agree it will definitely hit VZW. I would speculate probably closer to Q2 since the beginning of the year is already looking to be packed with PDA goodness. (Pre, Dragon/Passion, BB Essex, etc)

The stars on that “tablet” are very similar to moto’s droid…
I hope if theyre putting such a powerful flash on it that it has better software to adjust the white balance and such cuz the Droid takes terrible inside and people pics.

I believe Motorola Sholes Tablet will more thinner than Motorola Droid / Motorola Milestone. I think Motorola Sholes Tablet will be the thinnest Tablet Phone. Imagine how thin Motorola Droid without slide qwerty keyboard. That’s Motorola Sholes Tablet.

If indeed TMobile is going to get the Sholes Tablet…with Android 2.0….here’s my $$ right now.
Too late pour moi — I’m gone. I was a G1 early adopter, but busted T-Mo contract for the droid. Part of it was the phone was light years faster, but the other part was that T-Mobile’s 3G network is just a bit too thin for my taste.
T-Mo is a good company with great customer service, tho. I won’t rule out doing business with them at a later time if they get a state of the art Android phone AND greatly and I mean greatly expand their 3G network.
(UMTS/HSPA) Either AT&T or T-Mobile. This is not a CDMA device.
And if it has Snapdragon with 8mp. may be a good alternative to the Passion, which may be too big for some people.
And yes, this phone would be huge for T-Mob, and it could happen, I just dont think so, Motorola seems to be in VZW’s pocket right now.

Cliq, really? That phone is a joke even to the upcoming Motorola Calgery on VZW, and vzw has four other Moto phones, but that is history, I said Latley(meaning now and up and coming phones)…ooohh T-Mob has the Cliq, great commercial, not so good phone.
