iTunes LPs are great and really add value to the iTunes experience. I can’t wait to start making some of my own!

megas, you are in the dark for a few reasons:

1. no Apple just released the specifications for the format, not the tools.
2. Apple would give ppl a tool to create their own LPs/DVD extras that, like the podcast could be shared/sold on itunes or with friends (like you do now with DVDs you can create with iDVD or what is your tool of choice.
3. iDVD is the perfect tool if you want to replace the DVDs with something new and the fact that apple is trying to leave the DVD format (if not the physical format altogether) behind is quite clear at this point.

Again, Apple just out working and out classing everyone else in the industry.

Anyone and everyone will be able to sell their media on iTunes. Apple is slowly applying choke hold on digital media.

Well, to be honest this doesn’t make sense for a few reasons.

1. Apple already released the tools for creating lps right?
2. Why would apple give away something for free that would be sold in tunes. Ie, allowing anyone to recreate the lps for free.
3. Wouldn’t a newer app be created. iDvd doesn’t make sense for a digital on computer based program.

Just because you don’t use iDVD doesn’t mean that other users are the same. I don’t use Apple Mail, but I’m pretty sure there are those that do.

I use iDVD quite often. I use it to put together DVD’s for trade shows my company often attends. For stuff like that, a full DVD authoring suite such as DVD Studio Pro or Adobe Encore is overkill (Final Cut Pro is used for editing a video, not for authoring a DVD). If it’s just a short video with a few chapters tossed in, iDVD is fine. I can’t say for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are quite a few others out there that use it for the same reason.

Who uses iDVD to be honest. I have a mac and never bothered with it. Alot of people use other prograns most commlu used it something like final cut pro that the download off pirate bay. Not that I’m promoting pirating, but it’s a common thing people do.

That makes some sense. But isn’t iTunes LP all HTML, CSS, & JavaScript? I mean, it’s not a real LP/disc at all. Wouldn’t iWeb be a better foundation for that?
