Sales of the Sony Ericsson Aino halted
When it rains, it pours, and for Sony Ericsson, this week has been one big torrential downpour. Earlier we reported on the Sony Ericsson Satio which has been pulled from the shelves of the UK’s two major retailers due to a software glitch. Only a few days later, sales of the Sony Ericsson Aino were halted due to a growing number of customer complaints with the touchscreen. Once again, the source of the complaints was traced back to a glitch in the software. Trying to minimize this public relations nightmare, Sony Ericsson responded by saying “We are working as quickly as we can to solve it. Aino has sold limited numbers in the UK and this issue affects a very small number of consumers.” The promise of a future software fix is little consolation to Aino owners affected by this glitch and a thorn to angry stockholders who must be shaking their heads in utter disbelief.

Man, poor SE. Will they redeem themselves with the X10?
It’s ok, the 5 people who bought it can wait for an update.

truth spoken
Damn it, I gotta wait for an update
Gr8 touchscreen phone in which touchscreen is not working.
I was an SE follower but the whole year of waiting for the X1, was bad but the worst was that SE support seemed didn’t care for their fans.
So looking at the X10, it looks so attractive! But I can trust SE anymore.
Satio and Aino proof that nothing has changed.
bye SE.

I think Ericsson should just break away from Sony when it comes to making handsets. Sony should just stick to what they are good at TV’s and such… keeping away from Phones and Computers
Why is it that when sony ericsson have software glitches it is the end of the world but when blackberry have software glitches its no big deal?
Maybe because the “glitches” that the BB have don’t prevent you from USING THE UI OF THE PHONE?!?!
What is the plural of Aino?
Aini?
He wants us to say “Ainos” ;P
it looks cool too bad its not working
well SE is really going down
@Samtheman I’m not trying to be sarcastic, I truly don’t know, but it might be because if its a touchscreen with a software glitch that affects the touchscreen its worse
ah well hopefully the x10 will help them
hmm but what if that has touchscreen problems…..? lets hope not cause that is a beast of a phone
SE is going down for sure!
a long history of crappy devices, crappy os updates, devices that survived for least than a year on market and then a newer, better and crappier device would come out and leave previous device owners all slone with no updates to rot to oblivian!
SE gave also UIQ and symbian a bad name, then WinMo came next and we yet to see what will happen with Android…
I stopped buying SE since 2005
and boy I’m so happy!
I also used to like SE as well too bad things are not going well for SE.Maybe the X10 will bring them back again in 2010 or whenever they will release it.
Sent via BlackBerry.
I believe the plural is “Ainus”. He he he.
I was holding out for an Xperia X2. Vodaphone UK are still advertising it as a November release. I don’t think so! SE have fallen off and I’m going to have to sttle for a 9700 Bold.
Thank goodness I read this! I’m due for an upgrade in January and was swinging towards the Satio (hellooooo 12mp camera!) But think I may wait a little while now – or shop around.
Mr. Hodgkins, this post is plain wrong, FALSE!!
When is the retraction coming?

I’m not good with touchscreens. I guess that’s why I like my Aino so much. I’d be so much better if it stopped playing music in my pocket.
that girl is SO FUGLY WHY IS SHE ALWAYS ON THE THEIR AD!!! Can SONY not pay for better models?!
