Wirefly’s Black Friday specials revealed
So far, all of the Black Friday leaks we’ve seen haven’t been all that friendly to smartphone lovers, but according to our sources, Wirefly will be picking up the slack come Friday with the following deals:
Verizon BlackBerry Storm2: $0.99 for new subs / $29.99 for existing VZW customers (Friday only) followed by $9.99 / $49.99 until Monday
AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9700: $0 / $29.99 (Friday to Monday)
Sprint Samsung Moment: $79.99 / $99.99 (Friday to Monday)
If none of those phones catch your fancy, there are still some savings to be had as Wirefly will be waiving activations for AT&T and Verizon phones until Midnight on December 1st.
but unlike letstalk, wirefly doesn’t sell t-mobile “flexy pay ” plan? wait….. not even normal tmo on sale?

I’m pretty sure Wirefly only lets you order service with a 2-year contract (or pay full price for no contract at all). I’d rather just use my 20% discount through work and get a 1-year contract with Verizon.
With a $350 ETF fee from Verizon, who can blame you for pinching pennies? LOL However, just as the post says, you can upgrade/contract renewal at a low cost if you’re really married to your carrier.
Unless someone would like to correct me, I don’t believe any of these 3rd-party vendors offer 1-year contracts, including BestBuy. Anyone know otherwise and can verify it?
These seem like great deals for anyone who was waiting to pick up these devices. The fact that it goes past Friday is awesome.

from my experience they try to rip you off at wirefly. I tried to buy a phone from them and they told me I didn’t qualify. they said AT
For the love of god, I beg you, carefully read the BS Wirefly will put you thru.
My blackberry purchase from them was a humongous horrid nightmare and mistake, involving weeks and weeks of hassle, and them stealing $300.00 from a bank account they kept on file, without permission to use that account.
The Lies were endless (”We will have a Supervisior call you back with-in 8 hours”, made 10 times, witch never happened, “We’re sorry for this accident, a refund will be issued, which took 14 days”, etc)
It was the worst purchasing experience of my Life.
Found out later that the company that bought WireFly (and fufills for RadioShack) was forced into bankruptcy a while back from fines due to shady business practices, renamed themselves, and bought WireFly.

Wow that sucks man, sorry you had to go through that. Thanks for sharing, now I know not to order from them. Now or at anytime down the road. Did you report them to the BBB, or another consumer advocacy group?
14 days to turnaround a refund isn’t long, believe me.
However, there IS a good-sized BBB report about their shady past. I haven’t checked it out in nearly a year, but it’s true that the U.S. government shut down the old firm for its practices and the firm was sold.
Here’s the kicker: From reading the BBB reports, the SAME GUYS are operating the new firm.
So, would you trust them? I don’t.
I just signed up for Sprint service via wirefly.com because they offered both my BB Curves free of charge. All I paid was 19.99 for shipping. You do have to read the fine print, as I was approved for 3 lines via sprint.com and wirefly said I was approved for 2. After going through the dual verification process with wirefly and sprint account verification all was fixed. Also, if you change any part of the plan you selected when ordering at wirefly before 21 months, the literature stated that wirefly will charge the full cost of handsets without rebates to the card they you used for shipping/verification. In hindsight, I should have waited for Black Friday but the process was painless and I got 2 BB’s for free when other sites (Sprint included) wanted $49.99 and the taxes on retail price for both phones. I would recommend them to friends and family, as with anything read the fine print and know what you are signing up for.
Pray those phones do not require replacement due to manufacturer defect in the first 30 days. WireFly will either require you to send them the phones, and they will ship them back within 14 days of receipt, or they will require a full retail deposit for cross shipment.
They will charge the card on file, even if you give them another card to run the charge on. Then you will need to fight with them for the refund (both), and the refunds will take 14 days to process.
I also had to call them on each step of their verification and shipping process and get a CS rep to ‘nudge’ the process along, as they were having system issues, and the orders were getting stuck.
Only thing nearly as bad was when UPS lost my MWave order. Took UPS a week to decide it was lost, and another week for MWave to issue my credit.
Im a bit confused. With the blackberry bold are any of those prices without a 2 year contract? I would love to pick one up to switch between that and my iphone when every i get board of one? Could someone clarify

Will this deal sell out quickly, like most Black Friday deals? If so, what time will they start offering the deal? Midnight, 0500? I was planning on getting a 9700 when they go on sale, tomorrow, but I can wait until Friday to save some $, but not if I will simply get shut out… I don’t know if anyone had experience from a previous year BF with Wirefly.
i just bought mine. if u wanna buy it don’t wait and buy it now. when i called them on tuesday trying to get this $29.99 deal they were like, if u call on friday there are a limited number being offered to each state or something like that. so i checked tonight at 11PM eastern and the deal was already up and i pounced. get it while it’s hot.

From looking at the website, $439.99 for that Bold 9700. It’s unlikely to have a Black Friday discount.

Also, you have to sign up with a primary number on your account. This is mandatory. Don’t be foolish. If you think you can get away with just signing up on secondary line, you are just stupid. Secondary line costs you only 9.99 dollars a month. How much commission can wirefly make from that? They will charge like 199.99 dollars for this phone. Don’t be stupid.

I just wanted to warn future customers from Wirefly; I tried to order my Moto Droid from them. They asked for odd info, like my license #, anyway I wasn’t up for an upgrade according to Verizon. I got an email from wirefly saying that my order was canceled. Not a big deal. I wasn’t too worried about it. However, they kept or should I say tried to keep my $179.00 ( the droid was on sale apparently). Becareful when you order from that website. Make sure you check your credit card transactions! Just a friendly warning… =)
I work at a retail chain and customer fraud being the problem it’s become, we’re required to ask for license, or other government issued photo ID by the carriers (specifically TMO, AT&T, and VZW). We don’t always do it where I work, but that’s the standard procedure.
I just got the HTC hero from Best Buy mobile for 79.99. I am not a new customer either (i upgraded).
Wirefly sales usually start at midnight eastern time (which is actually before Friday for those of us on the left coast).
For what it’s worth, I have had good experience with Wirefly. Always a much better deal than the store, it’s easy and they ship quickly. Would love to upgrade my 8900 now but I’m only 9 months in…
I have seen many of the same complaints. They usually have to do with either rebates (which they stopped doing years ago), the timing of number porting (e.g., the port going through while the phone was still with FedEx), or people being upset because the eligibility or credit application was denied.
Do read the terms, but it’s all presented pretty clearly in their shopping cart, and frankly pretty typical for any AT&T “authorized” store. If you do anything that causes AT&T to withhold Wirefly’s commission (like cancel the plan or switch to a lower-priced plan), then they will come back and charge you the full price of the phone.
As BlackBerryBold and darkprince point out in previous comments, Wirefly isn’t looking to just give away a $400 phone. You DO have to commit to a contract and stick to that contract. That’s a good trade-off in my book.
I just completed my purchase from wirefly. extended my contract 2 years out and got a BBerry bold 9700 for a CONFIRMED $29.99. get shopping kids, these deals are live and FOR REAL.
I had no problems getting my phone what so ever! Heres the deal u got stinky credit ur gonna have to put a deposit or u wont get the phone. (ur fault for having bad credit) Wirefly can give the phone for free because the carriers pay for good customer contracts. The “catch” is u have to have ur contract for atleast 6 months if u cancel before 6 months you will have to pay for the phone. Now if u hate saving money go to the store otherwise wirefly’s deals cannot be beat.
