OS update now available for Verizon Tours

Not too much to say here other than an OS update for the Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630, 4.7.1.61, has started to trickle out. Although it’s already available to download from Verizon’s website and through BlackBerry Desktop Manager, we’ve been told that a handful of users will receive on-device update notifications throughout the night with general OTA availability tomorrow. No change log has been released. Let’s just hope that it’s not much longer until OS 5.0 drops for your beloved tuh tuh tuh TOUR (yeah, we remember).

Why don’t they release 5.0.0.230? I’ve been running it for months now and it is very, very stable.
I would update to 5.0.0.230 but Sprint Navigation and Sprint TV aren’t compatable yet.
KingZee, just wondering two things,
what operating system we’re you running before you made the jump to 5.0.
and
If you’re using a mac or a windows to update. I’m on a mac and I’ve had some trouble updating my tour to 5.0 with the mac.
Droid may in fact rule, but Motorola still makes junk… RIM however makes some of the best smart phones in the business and that’s why I wouldn’t be without my berry! And Yeah I’m siked about another software update because it already ran perfect! what could they have improved?
Did the upgrade. Phone now runs like a dog. Constantly freezes. Got to love technology.
Traded my Tour for a Storm 2 (and OS 5).
Man that thing is ugly. Especially compared to my 9700.
Still, Tour has a fucked trackball! Just wait till the year warranty is up and the trackball is jammed and you don’t have anyway to clean it. YOUR STUCK for another year!!!!!! with a screwed up phone……
they had a trackball recall you can go to verizon and they will give you a tour which has has the trackball fixed.
Why is it Sprint is always the last to update BB software? ?
Thing is, verizon doesn’t handle the replacement for the trackball quite that easily. They only give you an old refurbished phone that isn’t even new. I’m now on my third replacement which is also having trackball problems. They don’t seem to be giving out the new, fixed tours to people who need them.
