TELUS releases the BlackBerry Storm2
Just a quick little heads up for our Canadians brothers and sisters that at this moment may or may not be doing battle with polar bears on glaciers the size of Manhattan — TELUS has released the BlackBerry Storm2. Retailing for $599.99, the Storm2 is also available at the subsidized price of $199.99 provided one is willing to take on a 3-year contract with a minimum of a $50 voice and data plan. So what’s it going to be, Canada? Yay or nay?

This will sell in Saskatchewan and Manitoba as those 2 provinces don’t have Bellus HSPA yet. It’s supposed to go HSPA by 2011(?). Until then this is one of the possibly better phones for the CDMA network. Ewwwww CDMA….
i’m just waiting for the BlackBerry Storm2 for Verizon,BlackBerry Storm2 9550? how much it will be?

Hello, would an unlocked Verizon version of the Storm 2 work any better/faster on the Telus network?
(Verizon Storm 2 Network Support: Dual–band 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EV–DO Rev. A networks; Quad–Band: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks Single–Band: 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA networks)
My understanding of STORM 2 is that it IS NOT HSPA compatible on Telus’ network, and is ONLY a CDMA phone.
Yes, I know…. and I told them they are liars, and got really mad but EVERYONE now says its a CDMA only phone, where just a couple weeks before when I wanted to switch my Storm 1 to HSPA ( Assuming the smartcard had something to do with it, they said Storm 2 was what I needed, ha 2 weeks later the storm 2 doesnt even work on HSPA
I was mad… But they got me a new SHINY Storm to keep me happy.
…and to get the subsidized price you need to subscribe for 3 years to a $50 data plan: why, I believe that’s… thinking… um…. $1800! And they have the nerve to charge $200 still. But no wifi and no appworld make homer something something. Returning mine tomorrow.
