You were able to get a BlackBerry without a contract before. With FlexPay you don’t sign a contract and you get whatever phone you want.

Jeremy makes a great point. And even the EM+ had its FlexPay alternative. Boy, this is getting confusing as the lines blur between EM+, FlexPay, and Complete.

The Blackberrys are $299 at my local Best Buy. My question is how much will they tack on for BIS/BES?
It is 59.99 for 500 minutes + unlimited everything else including BIS. I am on this plan for EM+.
Not sure on BES but the rep I talked to said it was the same price. No additional charge. The Talk+text+web plans ofr smartphones truly means all smartphones.
The price is $299.99 for the 8520 for this new offering on Best Buy’s website. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/T-Mobile+-+BlackBerry+Curve+8520+Mobile+Phone+-+Black/9534113.p?id=1218120179516&skuId=9534113
You can get a prepaid BlackBerry Curve 8330 on MetroPCS in the USA since at least March for $50 a month with unlimited talk, text, and data, so the statement made that claims this would be the first time a prepaid BlackBerry is available in the US is false.
What’s Metro PCS??? LMAO. And who would even consider a Curve 8330 ? Unless you like driving Model-T cars too.
I suggest everyone read the article from this weeks Forbes titled “the $10 phone bill”. For this news to drop to little fanfare is ridiculous. yes, we can all geek out on specs of phones and what they can do, but imagine doing all of those things with the monthly price of a landline phone, with no contract.
True. Good article. Can’t wait for the ridiculously high charges to come down.

Yeah, these have been available at Best Buy for at least a month. (at least in Chicagoland) Not sure why they’re just announcing it now…
It’s been a while since you could get a BB without a contract. With FlexPay, you just had to pay the full retail price of the phone… Surprised BGR wouldn’t know this.
this isn’t the first time, metroPCS offered a blackberry curve last year and yes, best buy has these now, the reason its called “complete” is because it has the 1st month of service at “no charge”
Uh, hate to tell you this, but T-Mobile Complete IS Flexpay. The only reason they call it “complete” is it’s everything you need to get going in a box; the price includes your first month of service.
You get this, you’re starting up a Flexpay Even More + Monthly rate plan with text and data.
Vodafone has it as well here in South Africa and it cost R59 Monthly which is less that US $10.

How is this any different from the regular unlimited plans that include data? So they offer a $300 BlackBerry – who cares? MetroPCS has been doing this for a while. Nothing new here.
T-MOBILE SUCKS! The Bold should be $60 a month unlimited everything and MAYBE I’d switch to T-Mobile. I used to think they were a decent company but it’s obvious they care about one thing only: Money and getting as much as possible!!!
Idiots. Metro pcs sucks because they rent towers and have lack of decent coverage. Sure you can get a blackberry on it, but what good is a blackberry that has less coverage then my wireless house line.
Look beyond people. Tmobile is nationwide, good service, fast data speeds, and more for more price than the regional carriers, but a hell of a lot less than verizon or sprint or att. Really compare pricing before you buy or post stupid comments. Trust me I know..I have worked for or been involved with every single cell phone company mentioned here. Metro, Cricket, Tmobile, Sprint, Verizon, ATT.
Can you buy a complete phone and not activate the package and just insert your existing T-Mobile Sim card in it?
