BlackBerry Internet Service hit with data outages worldwide
We’ve been receiving multiple reports that BlackBerry Internet Service, or BIS, is down for many people — possibly worldwide. Initially, we thought the outages were only affecting certain carriers, but users from multiple carriers have reported a service interruption for what seems to be a few hours now. Naturally, we’ll keep you updated as we receive more news, but for now we’re not quite sure what’s causing this outage as it seems to be possibly affecting BlackBerry users on a global scale and we have numbers of around 75-80% in terms of users affected. I am living in South Texas and I too am experiancing data problems as well. As of today my BBM, Facebook, Übertwitter, Weather Eye and GTalk do not work at all. I’m a huge Blackberry fan who would never want to stray… But these outages are getting very annoying.
At 12:50pm CST, my emails starting coming in. Before then, I had nothing.

I had no service in Saint Louis. I had just activated a new Storm 2, and couldnt get anything to work. I was on Tech support for 1 1/2 hrs with verizon and RIM. Neither could give me any help. So I went into my local Verizon Store and they had no idea of this issue. So I had them give replace my phone after having it for 2 days. Haha, all is working fine now

Lost a bunch of messages, emails, and BBIM. AT&T carrier. NYC.
As of 1125PM EST Nov 18th, limited email service. My incoming email has been out since Nov 16th. Can send, but cant receive. Maryland. Very dissatisfied.
Working only intermittently. I am about to throw this thing against the wall. I never thought I’d convert to the iPhone but this is going to be intolerable if it continues.
Service still down in Waterloo, Ontario at 10:53 EST. Waterloo is the home of RIM’s head office.
BBM, E-mail, Internet, Facebook, Myspace, etc. down since Nov. 18 approx. 12:00pm MST. Verizon = provider. Is this a BB-only issue? As of now, I am considering a Droid for an early upgrade. (Apple will never get my money.)
BIS on Tmobile still down here in the Portland Oregon Metro area. and has been down since Friday. thought it was my phone. went through the headache of wiping and reloading the OS twice before I saw the articles on the outage! Seriously annoyed.
My Blackberry/Verizon service has been down all afternoon into evening. Northern Florida

when i’m down here I always blame it on the shoddy carriers but this time it is RIMs fault.
not only that, even connecting to a wifi doesn’t help b/c RIM routes a permission code through the SIM.
