webOS 1.3.1 now available

webos-131

WebOS junkies on Bell and Sprint should set aside some time this morning for an OS update, as webOS 1.3.1 has gone live. Sitting pretty at 126MB, some very useful changes have been made apart from the usual bug fixes. iTunes is not supported, but Synergy now includes Yahoo! contact and calendar sync while Sprint users now have Yahoo! IM. Forwarding and copying of a single SMS/IM message is now a go as is the ability to set unique ringtones for new messages while videos shot in widescreen are no longer automatically panned and scanned  There’s a bunch more that we’re not even going to bother getting into, so for the few of you that get kicks out of reading change logs, there are some links you might want to check out after the jump.

Que Paso? I’m wondering if this is gonna be on the Mexi-Pre and if the phone will be locked to TelCel.

Great, they added crap to “synergy”.

Now you can have even MORE contacts that you don’t really need to contact…in your contacts list.

But hey, if I ever do need to contact that guy I went to school with ten years ago, or that guy I bought a useless item from on ebay, he’ll be there.

How about allowing some actual control of synergy to make it useful, rather than lumping a bunch of garbage together and calling it “synergy”.

Boy has an iPhone and feels threatened by the Droid’s incredible opening week sales and ability to do things the iPhone could never do, like change your background, run two non-native applications at once and have reception in areas that aren’t within line of sight of a base station.

You call selling 100,000 Droids an incredible opening week compared to the iPhone???? What drugs are you on cause I want some!

And jailbreaking is an action that Apple seriously dislikes. Every time there’s an update, the first thing they do is un-jailbreak it. Yet with Android and the Pre, open development isn’t thwarted… in fact, it’s outright encouraged.

P has summed it up for all, since nobody in that particular city has been spotted, by him/her, that means no one bought it. Heck, there probably isn’t a Sprint subscriber in the area either. http://precentral.net/pre-makes-consumer-reports‘-best-products-list

      Hey,

The Pre is actually sold by the carrier called Bell Mobility. Which is the most powerful and biggest carrier in Canada.

And for the amount of publicity that they are producing around this perticular phone (since they have the exclusivity), I would really like to know why I don’t see anybody with it at work or even ask questions about it.

I updated my Pre today with this and although I don’t care to use the Yahoo contact integration, I have noticed a pretty nice little speed boost.

Oh yeah, enough of the fanboy hate from some of you’s. It’s out of control. I hear enough of it on PSN. I shouldn’t have said that, someone’s going to trash me with an “Xbox roolzzz” comment. Whatever.

the droid sucks I had one. It sucks because andriod sucks. Andriod does not do anything spectacular. Webos does, andriod is like a me too interface.

Android is the new Window Mobile. You can customize it to death, but UI not so friendly.

the palm pre continues to flourish well despite a few bugs. this update was a good addition which some issues, but more can be done to make it a smooth-running phone. it does help with day-to-day usage.
