Picture of the HTC Passion / Dragon’s screen?

htc-dragon

Pardon us while we think out loud, but that high resolution screen with an HTC Sense UI-looking clock/weather widget looks like Android to us. We’ve also confirmed that this photo was taken of a Verizon handset, and with all signs pointing to an impending release, we’re just going to venture out on a limb and say that we believe this photo is of HTC’s next Android device for Verizon Wireless. In case you forgot, the rumored device we’re talking about is supposedly one bad ass piece of telephonery — 5 megapixel camera, Android 2.0, and much, much more. One of connects said this thing could be out as early as Black Friday, and while it seems a little far fetched, we’re slowly coming around to the possibility.

UPDATE: Actually, I meant to write mid-December. Our previous scoop said either the Curve2 or Dragon would come out around Black Friday, and we know that the Curve2 is being released on November 20th.

Just looking for updates for Passion release. Took a look at Droid and Eris. I left wanting a combo of the Droid and the Eris. Looks like the Passion/Dragon is it. can’t wait!

Looks like Verizon is getting the HTC Dragon/Passion prior to XMas. HTCPassion.com is now showing a muted red Verizon check mark. Guess they can mark that one off Santa’s list.

It has… repeatedly. Still nothing new, and thats a little sad. I sense a number of people also in my position are slipping ever closer to picking up an Android device already launched.

I played with the Droid for the entire weekend, and while it’s a truly incredible phone, I’m thinking about holding out until post-Christmas to here more about the new iPhone (check out MacRumors for more), the Dragon/Passion, and possibly the Google Phone (which has apparently been confirmed).

A lot of people’s dilemma: the Droid is amazing, but it’s not the iPhone. However, AT&T sucks and it’s not worth committing to a two-year contract with a failing network. Keeping my eyes open!

I purchased and very much enjoy both the Moto Droid and VZW TP2, however, have no problem replacing them with next best thing…i.e. HTC Passion / HD2 respectively.

As much as I prefer hard keyboards, I would love to have more screen real estate even more. However, the soft keyboards would require the swipe typing capability such as the Samsung Omnia II is reported as having.

The passion will not be out until after the first of the year. This was a hold out incase the moto droid did not do as well as expected. Since the numbers look to sail past 1 mil they will wait to release this to pad the q1 numbers for 2010.

I really wish BGR would get some more info on this phone. I have 5days more for returning my phone and if this is ACTUALLY coming out on the 15th or mid-December then Im returning it. But nothing new about this phone has surfaced.

Agree! We need SOMETHING about what is going on with these great new phones. If it’s after the new year then, I’ll be bummed yes, but at least we’ll know or have a better idea. For those with the 30 days coming to an end……OUCH! Wish I knew ANYTHING!!!

Are we actually going to get this phone this year? Anyone seen FCC filings on it? Otherwise I’m not holding my breath. There seems to be quite a bit of “we’re definitely getting it” but not enough proof. The website isn’t sufficient proof because anyone can buy a URL and put some content on it. I certainly doubt Verizon would want it pulled down either if they found out about it because all it does is generate publicity for them.
