Sprint gets BlackBerry 8530 love, too
Shortly after the official announcement for the BlackBerry Curve 8530 coming to Verizon, Sprint customers were asking, “When are we getting ours?” It looks like a Sprint version may be coming around about the same time as Verizon’s 8530. There is no date for sure, but a Sprint spokesperson said that it is definitely coming and will be packing Wi-Fi and EV-DO, too. The price point should be about the same as Verizon’s, we’d imagine, though we’re hoping they give some kind of incentive for grabbing one of these over a Tour, which can currently be had at Best Buy for $99. If nothing else, this could appease all the trackball haters. Let’s just change the hue on that puppy, alright?Read

Wow is it really purple??
I believe Sprint is getting the same colors as Verizon (black and purple).

GOO!
ugly as sin.
EV-DO, but is it Rev 0 or Rev A?
Rev 0 not Rev A same as 8330
Wait … I bet Sprint is hoping that it can lure women and gay men away from the “all masculine, all the time” DROID.

I think this is the right strategy for Berry to target consumers and those that straddle the consumer / business space, like young working professionals. Bring it out in many colors.

My wife immediatly wanted one to replace her orange 8330. She’s not a tech person at all, so the Curve strategy seems to be working.

Lmao I thought only tech savy men aged 20-35 bought smart phones…
And it will be the same idiots next week saying how if one carrier doesnt get more smartphones they will go under.. This is the more smartphones.. I dont know what marketing class you took but half of all people are girls and girls like pretty colors…
Y purple? ewwww…..
Also do I smell a fight w/ VZW and Sprint they are releasing very similar phones @ the same/different point since the BB Tour release. Or have I been not been paying attention b4 the tour release.Another point to add is that are CDMA phones are taking so a short to release now to their GSM counter parts?
Just asking are any1 noticing these things?
All I want to know is where is a Best Buy that has a Tour for $99? Cause I want one.
I’m looking for that too, not cause I want one but that I want to see that price.
I want a Hero but If this thing is under $149 I will jump on it and wait til an HTC Android phone with a physical keyboard comes out.
the tour went off special nov 1 at best buy and went back up to $149. trust me, I upgraded and was pissed I missed $50 off by 1 day. bastards.
I hope the retail price is low.
does this phone support video calling? which phone/provider here in US support video call/conferencing?
… phone companies haven’t had much success with the video phones. i don’t think they hav anymore… maybe in another 10 years you’ll find the same video phone scheme they’ve been trying to do since tv and phone both existed in the same universe.

Personally I wouldn’t want a phone that color but it did catch my attention. If I was a kanye West type of dude with money I’d buy phones to match my outfits. LOL j/k
Does blackberry have stock threaded sms yet? Like, not as an installable app.
Noooo Leave the COlor, at least its not BOring like every OTHER cell phone color!
