HTC and Verizon announce the November 6th release of the DROID Eris
You already know we smashed this one, but in case you don’t… Release date? Check. Spy shots? Yes please. Unboxing? Sure. Press release? Well, we figure we would let Verizon handle that one. Today, HTC and Verizon officially announced the November 6th launch of the DROID Eris on the “there’s a map for that” network. This handset has all the goodies: Wi-Fi, GPS, a 5 megapixel camera, 3.2″ touch screen display, and HTC’s Sense UI. The price tag is set at $99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. We’ve given this puppy enough attention, but you can hit the press release for all the minutia.Read

Too bad HTC HD2 is running WinMo. I really like HTC but I want Android 2.0
i agree, i dont see HTC releasing stock android… it will have sense ui… it has always been reported that way too…
Will Eris eventually be able to upgrade to Android 2.0 or is 1.5 locked in?
HTC has announced that the Hero will be getting an upgrade to 2.0 directly from 1.5, skipping 1.6. They’re currently working on it. I can only imagine that given the similarities between the two handsets, the second the Hero has the update, the Eris will receive it as well. The biggest holdup is making SenseUI compatible with 2.0.
Disliked.

assuming them passion has sense ui with 2.0, its not getting released until the hero and the eris have 2.0. cause the whole point was they had to get sense to work with 2.0. so either it doesnt have sense or its not coming out for a bit
I just read the passion will not have sense ui cause they are not going to have 2.0 compatable till early 2010
