Motorola DROID Event: Browser and Google Navigation

DROIDAccessories-small

We hit up Verizon’s Motorola DROID event a bit earlier and finally got a chance to check out the DROID in person. Ok, seriously though, Verizon and Motorola engineers were on hand to answer any questions and gave us a quick walkthrough of the handset’s browser and amazingly cool Google Navigation application. We’re pounding away on our own full review with video, but in the meantime you can check out this quick one after the jump.

It does not have a single zoom. Once you double tap to get the first zoom, you can the tap the screen to hit the magnifying glass to zoom in more if needed.

Does it give turn by turn directions with voice. And does it give lane advice. Also does it pronounce street names.
    Thanks

This is a bad walk through IMHO. Check out the one endgadget has. It shows live traffic, always continuous updated maps, turn by turn directions with voice, street view, satellite view, once you get near your destination it shows you a real photo of the location.

I love the concept of the Verizon/Motorola Droid. My only big concern is that it’s NOT a world phone. I was hoping that it would come with a Global SIM Card like the Blackberry’s and the HTC Smart phones that Verizon has. I think that I’ll get the HTC Touch Pro 2.
