Nokia Booklet netbooks start infiltrating your local Best Buy

Who wants to buy a $2,000 netbook? Well, if you’d like to walk away with one for $299.99 and a $60/mo AT&T data plan for 2 years, you can. Otherwise the smarter move would be to purchase it at retail price of around $599.99 and get a data plan from AT&T without a two-year commitment. But regardless of the method of purchase, if you want a Nokia Booklet, Best Buy has got ‘em. Will they sell you one before November 15th? Probably not, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. One more shot after the break.

yep, probably because the price is a little bit high for your “average joe” notebook. It’s aforementioned that the price will be as high as 800 USD, though it can be lowered if you follow some BoyGenius Tricks

can I post engadget link too?

looks like a toy from fisher price when it’s open, nice when it’s closed tho…
Nov 15th week seems to be the Nokia week. Most probably N900 starts shipping on Nov 14th and then Booklet on 15th.
at 599.99 that Netbook is still a ripoff… you can get a Laptop with more power and memory for the same price….
rip-off or not, this is the pioneer notebook of nokia, for sure it has flaws but it doesn’t mean its not competitive enough.. try this http://google.com and search more info about your rip-off
I got to play with this @ the web 2.0 summit and it is actually pretty slick running windows 7. A ripoff @ 599 yes but not bad @ 299.
but not with 12 hrs of battery/hot swappable 3g/gps..thats the kicker

I work at a best buy as well, and we had the booklet up at our geek squad counter. First impression…the thing is gorgeous. The build quality is outstanding, and it just feels solid. If boygenius wants any more pictures…I could probably take them
@Lolipopjones,
I agree, but there are some very imp features in this booklet, which are not yet found in any other netbook in the market, plus its a premium design, unibody aluminum like Apple, plus the claimed 12 hr battery life and if in practicality, if it reaches to atleast 10 hr, it would still be worth for the frequent traveling community.
@travis
I agree, +1.
Lot of people just close their eyes purposely to the truth.
Or, you know, have BGR send me a tester model.
Disliked.

This is pretty sexy for a netbook, and with nokia you can’t expect anything other than good quality build and materials.

from the SPECS:
booklet 3g: max weight = 1250 g
macbook pro 13″ : 4.5lb (2.04kg) = 2040 g
that makes the macbook pro 13″ 1.6x heavier. that’s umm, not the same. not even close. the nokia is about 2.75 lb, versus the apple at 4.5lb (just rant the numbers). that’s a HUGE difference to be called ‘as heavy as the macbook pro 13 inchers”.

@CAM82,
you ought to be kidding dude. I don’t think it is as heavy as Macbook Pro13″. It is much lighter as far as original specs go. Are Macbook Pros 2.75 pounds only? I don’t think so. Correct me if i am wrong.
Also this one inspite of being netbook has few features built-in which the new Macbook even lacks.
For ex: sd card reader slot, screen resolution and HD out?
1st off I would like to say I am that Ninja LOL. But I played with the Netbook it LOOKS amazing. But the screen has a weird kinda glare to it I don’t know if Nokia knows about it or not but it’s a big no no that messed with my eyes
Yes, that is what you need, another computer for Nokia to abandon. I guess this means all the saps that bought N8xx Internet Tablets are screwed.
Signed, a sap who bought a Nokia Internet Tablet.
I’d probably just buy the laptop at $299.99 instead of buying it outright at $599.99. The cancellation fee is only $175 after 30 days. Keep the laptop and make about $125. You’ll be paying $60.00 per month either way.
Has anyone seen the white or blue models out? Can’t seem to to find anyone that knows when they will be in stock. Nokia says to call Best Buy. Best Buy says to call Nokia. WTF!?
