BlackBerry Storm 2 does the hokie pokie on Verizon’s website
We know it’s coming — Verizon’s CEO is flashing it to random college students around NYC, RIM is updating BIS infrastructure, and there’s been a ton of release dates flying around. However, it now looks like Verizon Wireless’ web team is jumping on the Storm 2 bandwagon as well. Last night the Storm Part Deux made it’s debut on the VZW website — all 360 degrees of it. Take er’ for a spin, won’t you? Also, if you’re up for it, we’d love to know if you are an original Storm owner and are planning to get the new Storm2 over the BlackBerry Tour or Motorola Droid. Hit us up!
Thanks, Jason!

Ahh, my bad. I heard that it was Moto from someone else and it made sense.
I stand corrected!!
I’ll definitely be switching from the Curve to the Droid. I skipped out on the Storm 1 because I actually tried the phone before I bought it lol
The Storm 2 was on my “Cannot buy” list from the beginning once it was obvious that the UI and the web browsing weren’t getting significant upgrades. I’ll miss BBM.
I owned the Storm 1 but there don’t seem to be many significant upgrades in hardware other than the ram and sure press. I wanted the Storm 2 until I found out it has the same processor as the Storm 1, I will definitely be getting the Droid.
I currently own a Storm 1 and will not be staying with the BB platform once the Droid of the Desire/Hero gets released. Even with RIM’s 5.0 OS, BBs are still way behind the competition in creating an OS that was touchscreen-focused. Like KeithNYC said above, the S2 was also on my “cannot buy” list from the beginning.
There’s a phone that can dance the Hokey Pokey, and this is the first I’m hearing about it?!?!?!?
Current storm abuser. LOVE it!!!!! I think all the people who don’t aren’t smarter than the phone, and need to switch to a toy phone. Storm one is sick storm 2 will be sicker! As far as the droid goes, it to looks very nice. I will have to wait till march for my annual upgrade. Maybe by then I will have my mind made up.
I’m exhausted from refreshing my Google news about the Droid…however, I would also like to know more about the HTC device they’ll be releasing. Might be a better way for the non-business world to go. Thoughts? What have ya’ll heard on the Verizon HTC Hero/Desire/Dux/thing-a-ma-jig
I owned a storm for 2 weeks, biggest peice of crap ever. Ill pass on blackberrys from now on.
Bye bye RIM. Hell no! I would not get the Storm 2 even if you give it to me! Hello Droid!
I’m a Storm 1 owner and will probably buy the Storm2. With Os updates the phones currently not a bad device as it was upon release. Granted one should not have to depend on os updates the way we did to improve the functionality. Improved touchscreen technology, more application memory is enough for me. The web browser hopefully will be upgraded next summer. Yes, Rims os is behind the others in inovation and wow factor. I think once LTE comes out and Rim produces phones that can handle all that we’ll get to the same level as the Android os’s and the Iphone os’s. If not I may have to consider a change.
I will be switching to the Droid. I have been a storm owner since day one, and I am disapointed with it. I was able to play with a Droid (friend works for moto), and all i have to say is wow. THIS is the first phone to definately compete with the iphone. RIM has no clue.
I have a storm 1 since the first day it came out and even with all the software updates(currently on .230) phone still has problems. I will be going to the Omnia 2 when it comes out.
just because it has verizons stamp it does not mean it is a VZW ad. i mean it is, since they are the ones carrying the phone, but they are not the ones bashing apple, it is moto. im sure apple knows this. too much money to be made by vzw and apple to basj each other.
I own Storm 9500 and it is the biggest FAILURE I’ve ever spent my money on!!!
Storm 9500 must be listed in Guiness book of world records as the phone with the most self-reboot in a day!
I will switch to either Tour or Bold 9700
I’ve gone from Storm, currently have a Tour. I really loved the original Storm until my broke and all the replacement ones I got from Big Red kept breaking down as well so I was given a Tour. I like the Tour but miss my touchscreen.
Personally I’m jumping the Blackberry ship and jumping aboard Android. Touch + Physical keyboard with a better more modern OS (which hopefully will have full Exchange support please pretty please), how can you go wrong?
Goodbye storm.
Hello MOTO!
I’ll reward Motorola’s risk-taking and buy a Droid before I buy RIM’s apology.
Liked the Storm, especially SurePress’ accuracy, but the Storm 2 is what the Storm should have been…
…a year ago.
I currently own a Storm1. I have had 5 of them(yes 4 replacement units and a current Mexican model I have now). I will be getting a new Storm2 but, not the way I want. I want Verizon to replace my Current FRU Storm1 with a new Retail Storm2 with thier thanks for all the beta testing! But, saddly I will add a new line because the current Storm1 I have isn’t eligible for an upgrade till next year. The bottom line is it’s a Blackberry, and you can’t give up on it. Nothing does business like a Blackberry. I can’t wait till the new one is available, it is hopefully going to be everything my Storm1 was supposed to be.
I had a Storm for a week & hated it.
I love the idea & the features but it wouldn’t scroll when I wanted it to & it wouldn’t type the letters I wanted to.
I waiting for the Storm 2 but maybe I won’t & I’ll get the curve
@Walter Newbury,
How do I know you’re lying? Because if the pre’s proximity sensor is anything like the iPhone’s then it shines a light in the direction that the phone is facing and only when that light is interrupted is the screen switched off. But if the pre does it in a different way my apologies.
Back to the storm 2.
Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).
Switching from a RIM device to Moto is an excercise in fail. Talk about jumping to a sinking ship
Good luck to those making the jump. Blackberry will greatly improve in the next generation, sad that you guys experienced difficulties
i JUST got a tour yesterday…my storm1 was being a pill and i couldnt wait any longer on the s2.
i didnt use my upgrade to get the tour, so mid novemeber i will be looking at the droid with more interest.
I will not, I repeat, will not even look at BBS2. I take that back, I will look at it, flip it off while giving it the evil eye, then I will get the Droid. After getting the Droid I will have a bonfire in which I will throw my PEICE OF SHIT BBS IN THE FLAMES AND WATCH IT BURN!!!!!!! Come on Droid!!!!
ok im a s1 owner i like the phone but it is to buggy i have a friend that works in verizon customer service and said the s2 is good but u can have the os for s1 and he also tells me that verizon may offer a 50 dollar discount for s1 owners and better news is that it will be part of the blackberry bogo sale in jaunary so i might wait and get two s2 and 50bucks of just in case one breaks but the droid looks like something i wana try
Man! I have to say I LOVE what I’m hearing here today! All of the Storm to Droid jumpers! Woohoo! Means no lines for me at Big Red when the S2 finally drops! I got my sons the G1, and played with it enough to say no Droid for me! I need a more serious device. I mean apps are cool…I guess, but I have a PC for games and surfing. Maybe its the business side of me talking, but there just is NO replacing the business practicality of a BB. Storm2 here I come…and no wait!!!
