BlackBerry Storm 2 does the hokie pokie on Verizon’s website

vzw-storm2-360

We know it’s coming — Verizon’s CEO is flashing it to random college students around NYC, RIM is updating BIS infrastructure, and there’s been a ton of release dates flying around. However, it now looks like Verizon Wireless’ web team is jumping on the Storm 2 bandwagon as well. Last night the Storm Part Deux made it’s debut on the VZW website — all 360 degrees of it. Take er’ for a spin, won’t you? Also, if you’re up for it, we’d love to know if you are an original Storm owner and are planning to get the new Storm2 over the BlackBerry Tour or Motorola Droid. Hit us up!

Thanks, Jason!

I hated the first storm. It was a horrible phone as after a few months I switched to the iPhone and have never been happier about a phone I’ve owned. Never again am I going to blackberry. iPhone rocks

@Jerry Marcus How is Verizon the most expensive network in America??? AT&T and Verizon charge the same price for everything. 450 minutes is $39.99/month, unlimited txt is $20.00/month and Unlimited Web is $29.99/month. Both come out exactly the same. If you add Visual Voice mail its $2.99/month. That is the ONLY difference. I’ll pay the extra few bucks a month and get a much better carrier.

Fuck no. I have a 10 year old Audiovox I’d rather use than get a Storm 2. Ooooh it has wifi, so what, same OS as on my Storm, which sucks by the way. And yes i have done every little mod like using hybrids and themes and shit. Sick of it, maybe the Essex will be better.

I have the Storm 1 and after a few months of wanting to go back to my curve… the updates came out and fixed almost all problems I had with the device. I WILL be swapping out my Storm 1 for the 2 and am pretty excited to do so. I hope it will be ok! Although, I must say, the Droid is VERY nice and I might wait to see how it is before I make my final decision..

I have a Hero on sprint, so not sure if I’ll be needing 2 android phones or if i should still keep blackberry… i do agree with someone above (probably more than one) that the BB touch interface should be changed up a bit, and the OS is lacking with what is now out there from android!

I’ll consider getting it, but only after I play with it. No waiting 8 hours in line for the Storm 2.

Maybe Verizon/BB should give me a reduced price since I bought into the first one

Hell yeah they should. I bought the first one and now looking at the second one that came out not even a year ago, I sorta feel swindled.

I have an original Storm which once everything was updated works fine, however, I recently went to the Tour. Have option to trade Tour for Storm 2 but don’t know if I am going to until I see the device and see how it works. I actually have 3 Tours, one I use personal, one I use for work and my wife has one. The 2 is really going to have to be a great device for me to trade. Would consider Droid but not a fan of the OS.

Not a chance! I will wait for Droid, Pre, or even iPhone (it should hopefully be out by the time I’m up for a renewal). RIM is too slow at moving forward with development, mostly software, for me to have another BlackBerry. The first batch was rotten so I still have that horrible taste in my mouth.

Why do iPhone junkies constantly go to blogs about other phones and bash them. Do they feel the need to justify their overpriced phones, plans, and lack lustre service through AT&T? Seriously, I and the rest of the world are seriously happy for you that you have your iPhone. Guess what? There are plenty of people who have pointed out the iPhone and AT&T have their shortcomings. I guess no one (except maybe you) is perfect! By the way, what does the Storm 2 have in common with the Storm 1? Answer: RIM. Who is the number one smartphone manufacturer? Answer: RIM. Is iPhone a great phone, probably. Again, we are happy for you. Now go play with your iPhone and let us get back to our lives. Thank you.

Jim W, I have to agree with you! Apple is a great company but it’s the users who are so retarded. If they want to continue to use their iphone 3GS on AT&T’s so called 3G network, there’s a map for that too!! lol RIM is the best by far!

Never again Verizon. You duped the public into getting the Storm way before it was ready to be for public use. I bought into it. That with the other lousy devices Verizon offered along with the worst customer service over and over again makes the best service provider a loser. Verizon lost me over the Storm. Went with the iPhone and have never been happier. It is making me switch over to a mac as well. The damage was done with the Storm 1. Blackberry and Verizon are dead to me and many others. They deserve to have lost so many loyal customers. I had been with Verizon from day one on landlines and cellular. Never again!

Dude, stop crying over one bad experience. Do you really think AT&T has great customer service? We are all human and we all make mistakes, sooner or later you will have a bad experience with AT&T’s customer service too, then what? Cry about it and go to another carrier or maybe even back to Verizon! I see that happen everyday, dumb asses like you who thinks the grass is greener on the other side! It may be greener, but someone still has to cut it! So stop crying and look at which company has the lowest churn rate and most customer base, that will tell you which company has the best customer service. it’s dumb ass like you who thinks that if you leave, Verizon will cry about it. No! they will just pick up a new customer from somewhere else!

I have the first storm, getting the second and cant F’n wait! Everyone who doesnt like the storm is simply not a phone lover, my phone has customized how I like it, the screen clicks and feels great, and the screen resolution is amazing! Besides the fact that VZW makes you have a “VZW Phone”, Verizon has a great customer service, great insurance, and I have been satisfied! I cant wait for Blackberry Storm “part deux”!!!

Ok, so I went down to Verizon yesterday and played with the Storm 2. Alas I really wasn’t all that impressed. I really wanted to be, I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever! It is pretty much the same phone minus the keys, a little speedier, easier to type, and WiFi. Of course that is all anyone really promised but guess I was hoping for me. At $200 there is a LOT of competition. I must admit I’m going to wait for the Droid to see what it has under its hood before I decide.

    Vic C says:

I bought the first Storm when it came out and it looked great but the software sucked. After the updates it got a little better. Now with the new 5.0 update, the phone is faster but my bluetooth keeps disconnecting from my car, Moodio radio won’t play over bluetooth and sometimes won’t play at all. Battery resets went from 2-3/week to now 1/wk. So when I called Verizon that I wanted an upgrade from storm1 to storm2, they said I wasn’t eligible until next year; meaning I had to pay full price if I wanted to upgrade. I told them that I’m willing to pay what I paid for the storm1 ($199). I’m not asking for a free phone, just one that works right. I could just hear the sacasm when he said, “Sorry Sir, is there anything else I could help you with”? My wife hung up the speaker phone before I could answer the little sh*t!
If i want the Droid, it’s over $500 which is ridiculous for a phone. Storm2 is over $450. Only reason I’m still with them is the wife likes her Omnia and my company discount. Otherwise I’d switch in a heartbeat to iphone or palm-pre. What’s their slogan? “If you’ve gotta problem then we’ve gotta problem”… yeah right. My problem is I have a piece of sh*t phone that shouldn’t of been released until all it’s bugs were gone. Hello? ….. Verizon?….. Can you hear me now?
