Verizon’s DROIDDOES marketing campaign
We just got a link to Verizon’s new campaign directly aimed at the iPhone, and boy is it awesome. Everything the iPhone doesn’t, the Droid does, huh? Hit the link for some more shots of the ad!
Thanks, ffcsquall24
UPDATE: Our faithful commenters seem to have deciphered the countdown and it appears to be counting down to October 30th. Hmm, where have we heard that date before?

Date confirmed at Oct 30th at midnight via HoFo http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=13120076

Sweet! whats the link?
Where’s the link to hit for more shots of the ad?
So where’s the link? Come on, give it up! Please!
Where’s the link?
verizonwireless.com/droid
what link!!! i Want to know More!!!
awesome isn’t it.
Time to roll out some more reveals BGR. Come on with more leakage!
that is soooo funny!!! : [}
Sounds just like WinMo, doesn’t it? (except for that night shots thing)
actually, it doesn’t. winmo phones can do everything they list. iDevice..cannot.
You can also go to it by typing in droiddoes.com.
As much as I want this phone, the whole “iPhone killer” appeal they’re trying to give it is turning me off a bit. I want something to stand on it’s own, not something designed to try and outperform the iPhone. As much as I do not like the iPhone, I’ve got to give it to apple for making such a stable machine. Guess we’ve just gotta hope it lives up to all of this hype.
iWish tmobile knew how to market like this. They might be able to get some nice android phones if they had any balls.
now we just need a review saying the thing’s great.
IMO, I find some of their arguments very pity, like not having a real keyboard (iPhone ain’t the only one, some Android phones don’t have one either) and also not being able to take nightshots (really Vzw, really…)
But why would Verizon want to burn any potential there was for them to get the iPhone on their network?
Lol @ an entire cellular network company advertising against just a SINGLE phone. Shows the power Apple and the iPhone have.
Way to be a fanboy.
when was the last time you saw an ATT commercial that wasnt for the iphone? they base their company around one phone..
Can you please comment on the hero’s release date to Verizon as well as some of us would like that instead.
Thanks
Sooo, if somebody just happened to be a robot and translate that freakin countdown… things would be much easier…
DroidDoes = EPIC WIN!!! Moto + Vzw have the ammo, the phone is chambered, and now they’ve got their sights squarely on the biggest target of all: can’t wait to see what happens when they pull the trigger!
A Google search on “verizonwireless.com/droid” shows a Sponsored Link from them with “Coming 11/06/06″ by the link.
there is the windows phone comercial even tho it isnt really an at&t comercial but yea everything the driod can do… windows mobile and black berrys have been doing
Hmmm. . .I like this game. I have a few myself.
DroidDoes allow multitasking, as long as you don’t mean voice and 3G data simultaneously. Oh wait, that’s not ‘Droid, that’s VZWs network.
DroidDoesn’t imitate the iPhone well enough for people to remember it’s been available for almost a year now (albeit on some other network where-gasp-voice and 3G data could work simultaneously.
DroidDoesn’t have 85,000 apps, and never will.
DroidDoes have a premature obsolesence cycle (see those G1s that already can’t load the most recent firmware).
DroidDoesn’t have the buzz the iPhone has, and it Droid never will.
DroidDoes have expandable memory, which is necessary because there’s no current model with 32GB of flash.
DroidDoesn’t make up for the fact that had VZW simply accepted Apple’s proposal they’d be so far ahead of AT&T by now that these silly, phone-specific campaigns would be unnecessary.
DroidDoes show a desperation to counter the one phone that they have been unable to imitate, and whose effect they have been unable to mitigate, despite 2.5 years.
But then there’s my personal fave:
DroidDoesn’t have a chance.
Cheers.
