BlackBerry Bold 9700 pops up in T-Mobile Germany’s website as arriving in November

tmo-de-bold-9700

Oh look, yet another BlackBerry has shown up on a carriers website before its existence has been officially acknowledged. This time the honor falls upon T-Mobile Germany and the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Listed without a price but as available in November, T-Mobile is positioning the 9700 as the “Bold the size of a Curve,” something easily confirmed by on quick glance at the accompanying spec sheet. Listed as 109mm x 60mm x 14mm, the 9700 shares identical dimensions with the Curve 8900 save for the fact the former is 0.5mm thicker. Standby time is rated at nearly 21 days while talk time clocks in at 5 hours, a far cry better than the current Bold’s 13.5 days of standby and 4.5 hours of talk time despite the fact that both devices operate on the same 1500 mAh battery. Of course all of this has been covered in our hands-on review pre-release review of the 9700, but we’re sure most of you know that already, right?

Thanks, Julius!

Is it identical to the ATT version? Processor, battery? No additional specs? What gives? Are we safe to assume that 9700 is a 9700 regardless of carrier?????

I don’t know what bold ya’ll people using but my bold lasts a bit over 3hrs of continues talk time and about 4hrs of streaming radio. Hence why I have 4 batteries…something of a god send that the 9700 is using the same batteries at the 9000. Yey! Ill have 5.

I’m hearing tat at&t will not be getting this phone this year, but possibly end of first quarter 2010. TMob has a 6mo exclusivity on it.

Too bad for us at&t users. Stuck with the dated bold – complete with padded vinyl backing.

Why would T-Mobile get a 6-month exclusivity…on a BlackBerry – a BlackBerry whose original version (Bold) was on at&t first?

Speaking of this 9700 for T-Mobile Germany, does anyone know what bands the Euro-Spec 9700 will have? I’m wondering if there will be any other UMTS band other than 2100 for global roaming and whether or not T-Mobile Germany would choose 850/1900, 1700, or both.

This is also coming to TM USA around the same time, as has been widely reported. TM is finally starting to launch handsets at the same time worldwide. Good for TM USA users.
