Geohot unleashes blackra1n upon iPhone OS 3.1.2
Following up on the success of purplera1n, iPhone hacker extraordinaire geohot has released a jailbreak solution for OS 3.1.2 dubbed blackra1n. Currently only being offered to Windows users, blackra1n works on all generations of the iPhone and iPod touch, although the 3rd gen iPod touch needs to be tethered. The installation method for blackra1n is unchanged from that of its predecessor meaning that all you really have to do is download and install the app to your PC, plug in your device and make it ra1n. works well on 3g as well with 3.1.2. Has anyone installed supreme preferences on the new os?
Ive jailbreaked my iphone 3g using blackra1n. it was the fastest and simplest jailbreak ever. I download icy,rock, and cydia at the beginning. Then i try and use cydia and it says i Cydia doesnt know which version its running because i downloaded icy at the same time thus rendering the jailbreak useless. i restored my iphone 3g then tried several times again to jailbreak again to no availe. So can you not jailbreak again once youve jailbroken before?!?!?
you can either have cydia or icy not both…
you can have both!! you have to download cydia then reboot then go back to blackra1n and download icy!
Yeah… had that problem too. What you need to do is get a firmware up on it (any which one), and then do the complete system wipe, the thing in settings/general/about/ delete all content and settings in there.

If you cant get a firmware on there, use redsn0w 0.8 with a… 3.0 firmware i guess, to just break your ipod down again so it will boot up. then do the sys. wipe.
THEN! Put your firmware back on, and then do your jailbreaking again.

A few questions, whats jailbreaking? I’ve heard of it but don’t know what it does. And I just got a 16gb 2ng gen. iTouch two weeks ago. I think it’s on the latest version of iTunes and the latest OS for the device. Will I have any problems?
Does blackra1n work on ipod touch 1st gen? I have 3.1.2 filmware and i have never jailbroken my ipod!

My phone was previously jailbroke and when blackra1n came out I went ahead and updated my OS and then ran blackra1n.
There were NO issues with the install but my phone is just not broken.
I am not able to load all my other applications on it now.
Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it.

i JS my 3gs using blackra1n.. everything works fine for 5 days.. then my wireless suddenly going crazy..
its successful connect to the AP but i can’t used the internet.. every app said i have no internet connection..
Whats actually cause this prob? anyone could help?
