BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 has landed
BlackBerry addicts, its officially time to freak out because BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 has just gone live in App Word. We don’t think we need to tell you what it’s all about because not only did we give the world its first look at the app, but its also been floating around for one hell of a long time. Well what are you waiting for? Let’s crash RIMs servers and call it a party! Hit us with your feedback, ok?
UPDATE: Looks like the servers really aren’t capable of handling the demand as we and a bunch of our readers are getting a “connection timed out” message. We’ll let you know once things calm down and everyone can be accommodated.
UPDATE 2: Looks like things are once again up and running.
Because not everyone has Google Talk built into there blackberry, but everyone has BBM.
For those of you who don’t like how you can see less text in conversations, you can adjust the appearance to use the old conversation look (plus smiley shortcut and avatar) by going to your buddy list, hitting menu, selecting ‘options’ and changing the “conversation style” to ’standard’ and saving.
Umm Google Talk is a free app and can be on every smartphone for free… soo back to the point of why limit yourself to just talking with BB’s.. seems rather silly. You even have issues on the BBM when versions aren’t same to other BB users.. .
Oh yeah. If BB really wanted people to use their BBM, they should have BBM integrate other IM protocols thus when talking to other BB it would use the BBM protocol and use whatever when not a BB. Seemless and makes sense… which means we’ll see this on OS 7.5
The only thing I dislike on the BBM 5.0 is that when you send an image you can not view it, you have to download it.
Other than that BBM 5.0 is awesome!
same thing happened to me. it sucks =(. used to look like the one BGR is showing in screen shots…
Has anyone had problem with typing to a contact? When I type in a chat, periods are randomly placed within a sentence and the letters in some words will be in CAPS. I’m not sure how to fix this. BBM 5.0 worked fine yesterday…
I’m having the same problem with blackberry messenger unable to retrieve corrent location error. Did you figure it out yet so that I can get mine fixed and working?
