I have the omnia 910 from Verizon, downloaded a 6.5rom few months ago, tried the MS store few days ago. just went live. Runs smooth, lots of apps on it, I guess its good for some, I have or had most of them anyway from other sites.

@ toecutter i have wm6.5 and touch flo 3d2.1 and i dont have any of those problems.. if you install from trusted sources the incompatibilty issues are zero.. but if your the type to install software made for completely diff phones than yea your bound to have issues.. and im sure if you get all fancy and start jailbreaking and rooting other phones ish can get messed up just as fast as when you start unlocking and flashing a wm.. at least i can expiriment with my phone and not void the warranty..

Yeah, it’s a riot scouring first the web to find the most recent version of the app that won’t break TF3D, etc, then scouring through your desk to find the sync cable you haven’t used in months, ONLY to find that Windows can’t find your phone once it’s plugged in.

@ boogaloo that is over the phone so no pc needed, there are reviews, and there are are no refunds because on wm most things are free.. nice try tho.. if someone wants a simple more polished experience i reccomend the iphone all day.. but dont knock wm like its useless wm might not be the prettiest but thats only because its hands down the most versatile..

Microsoft must be working overtime this morning to get the number of apps in the store up. I’m currently seeing 188 apps (the biggest chunk are games — 66 at the moment). I wonder if the early release caught someone off guard?

i need usefull apps, multi tasking, and a real homescreen.. maybe there is some os you guys are using that i missed out on but last time i checked the only us carrier supported os that met those three very basic requirements was wm..

@Curney and others saying 6.5 isn’t worth it.
It is. The kinetic scrolling ALONE makes it worth the upgrade. No more struggling to touch those small scroll bars or using HTCs crappy flick scrolling implementation. In 6.5 the OS natively supports kinetic scrolling and it works very well and smoothly.

WM developers are the ones setting their prices high, not Microsoft. Saying MS should work on getting the prices down is misguided and if they did dictate prices you can be sure all the apple sites (BGR and Engadget) will be all over MS calling them evil, dominating, controlling, etc.

with TF3D on mt TP2 i dont think I will even update. I only really see 6.5 in the start menu and I like the old start menu….it doesnt launch into full screen. My app store is working great by the way… http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/

Second, those who give a shit are users of mobile devices who don’t have either the time to hunt around for applications for their devices, don’t know how or where to look for devices and those who don’t know there are 3rd party applications available for their devices.
The majority of users aren’t the type of people who come on these (or related) blogs. They ARE simple minded.
App Stores (while they still do need much help in both design and functionality) are a great idea to put all the apps in one place so that you aren’t having to scroll to the ends of the internet.

WinMo 6.5 is a marginal and fairly insignificant improvement over 6.1 or WinMo 2003 for that matter. Until decent devices come out – I mean ones with proper capacitive screens – it is quite useless.
