T-Mobile and Samsung make Behold II official

The Android devices keeping piling on for T-Mobile. This time, however, it’s a non-HTC device. So, if you’re a big fan of Samsung and Android, you’ll have a lot to look forward to with the Behold II. While the phone doesn’t look as flashy as some of the others, Samsung is adding its own touch to this device with the TouchWiz UI over Android, so we’ll have to see just how that stacks up against HTC’s Sense and Motorola’s MOTOBLUR. If anything it will at least look pretty on its 3.2″ AMOLED screen. TouchWiz for Android will have the same layout as before, but with an additional cube menu that features items like YouTube and the Amazon MP3 store. Other features include a 5MP camera with flash, 16GB memory expansion, AGPS, 3G and Wi-Fi though there’s no word on UMA capabilities. Pricing details or release date aren’t available just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

T-Mobile is really stepping it up for the holiday season! With the Motorola Cliq, 3G Blackberry, and now this Behold 2 with Android…..they are definitely positiong themselves for a big season….much better options than least year.

I am still personally leaning towards the Cliq though.

It’s so funny that most of the buttclowns who whine about winmo are complaining about the UI…but it seems vanilla android doesn’t really cut it either!

This phone looks like a repackaged i7500 galaxy:

T-Mobile USA was supposed to be getting the i5700 Galaxy ‘Lite’ w/ less storage, camera, and flash but this on has all of those (memory unconfirmed).

    Looks promising.

I’m excited for Android that there are so many new devices coming out- and driving home the felxibility of the OS to consumers..

but myself, I can’t get excited about a non-QWERTY phone.. just me

No word on UMA??? No UMA is a big let down..The UMA option is as compelling as Android operating system itself…Come on!!! Always stopping just short of greatness.

LOVE that there’s wi-fi on it. Riley, how’re you liking that Sidekick LX right about now? I’m on a Sidekick 08… the end of my contract can’t get here fast enough.

I still love my Sidekick LX…the data outage kinda sucks but I had almost all my contacts saved to the SIM, plus the ones u didn’t have saved u can access on T-Mobile.com on the Sidekick desktop Interface…..

All servcies other than some downloads should be restored by now….

I too am glad the Behold2 will have Wi-Fi but without UMA I would just rather use a myTouch….unfortunately the Cliq doesn’t have UMA either but after this week of bad Sidekick’ing the Cliq is definitely an upgrade and my contract is up in November….just in time :o )
