Motorola Droid / Sholes / Tao launching October 30th?

vzw-moto-calendar

Sorry, but we couldn’t help posting this… We’ve received a screenshot of a Verizon Wireless calendar that shows in addition to marketing and merchandising dates, a Motorola Sholes target date of October 30th. If you notice the HTC Imagio date on the calendar, it correctly depicts the proper launch day for the handset, leading us to believe this is pretty accurate and recent. Thoughts? Bigger shot after the jump.

Thanks, J Bird!

You’re wrong about the blackberries. They can definitely multitask and are pretty good at it.

    @rob

winmo can multitask like no other.
most people’s argument of winmo over iphone was the multitasking.

    I don’t think its true…
The Droid/Sholes/Tao does not show up on this month’s rebate sheet

Which sucks, because I’m really looking forward to this phone (Still a toss up between the Omnia II though)

The storm2 will launch oct.24-25. The omnia2 will launch around mid november. The Droid will launch late october/mid november along with the imagio. Verizon customers will be happy within the next couple of months.

Why is sholes not capatalized? Is there no specific format for this verizon calendar? I am unfamiliar, it just looks like it doesn’t belong.

What makes you say that ? There like the exact same rates as ATT, Sprint and T-Mobile are the only ones that are actually cheaper.

    some guy says:

    This calendar is bunk:

    1. There is no Verizon branding anywhere on this calendar.

    2. No txt8030 Razzle release date. The Razzle will launch 10/6 and hit stores later this month (engadget), yet apparently VZW doesn’t care enough about it’s release to mention it on an internal calendar?

The Sholes may release on Oct. 30th, but it has just as much chance launching on any other day after this garbage.

The storm 2 is going to launch on the 14th. My Verizon rep confirmed that last week with me, so I hope this is accurate.

From what I understand Android 2.0 will support multi-touch. Even though some reports say the sholes/tao/droid will be running on android 2.0 there is still quite a bit of skepticism which is very understandable. My question is this; if the sholes/tao/droid is NOT running 2.0 and does not have multi-touch at the time it is released, is it likely to be upgradeable to android 2.0? If it will be upgradeable, will simply the installation of android 2.0 give the sholes/tao/droid multi-touch at that point? I have a bad feeling the answer is no because the hardware won’t be made for multi-touch if it’s not running 2.0. I don’t claim to know very much about this subject though, so please let me know your thoughts.
