HTC Imagio gets previewed on video

imagio-vid

You might not be able to get your hands on one until next Tuesday but we have a little treat this morning for Windows Mobile fans waiting impatiently for the HTC Imagio. Apparently a Verizon Wireless distributor has thrown caution to the wind and decided to preview the unreleased handset in great detail on YouTube. From front to back and top to bottom, the video walks you through just about everything you’ll need to see in order to decide whether or not this puppy is for you. So if waiting another five days to examine Verizon’s first Windows Mobile 6.5-powered handset is just too torturous for you, hit the jump and enjoy eight solid minutes of WinMo 6.5 action.

Thanks, Mr. Hi-Def!

I’m hoping that the Pure is similar to the Imagio, but the Pure seems a bit less inspired than this device. I’m liking the screen size, kick stand and button layout to this device compared to the Pure’s reported features. Is there anything nicer about the Pure compare to this device?

Considering she didn’t seem like a complete tech junkie, she actually did a really good job with this. Seems like a pretty nice phone. I’m still holding off until I’m eligible for my upgrade in November with Verizon for the Motorola Tao/Droid. After trying every phone OS, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m set on a Google Android mobile OS.

Chris, there’s no Web OS to try out so that may be something to hold off on

My apologies. I should have done my research a bit before posting. I guess I meant that she didn’t fit the stereotypical “nerd” that we associate tech product demonstrations with. Then again, that perception has been gradually changing with the wave of female hosts on many technological programs that definitely put beauty with brains.

As far as the Web OS to try out, isn’t the Palm Pre rocking the first incarnation of Web OS? I’ve used a Palm Pre for a few hours at work (albeit, not on Verizon’s network) and thoroughly enjoyed the OS. It just doesn’t give me the in depth functionality of what the Adriod demonstrated.

iPhoneLOVER: Do you want a hardware keyboard or not? That should narrow things down for you. After having the Tilt for almost 2 years, I’d be very hesitant to give up the keyboard (and I love the form factor with the sliding screen); the Leo is really the only phone I’d consider giving up a keyboard for.

Anyone know how this phone will stand up to the Omnia II? Because I’m pretty sure I’m done waiting for the Omnia II… they haven’t even announced an official US release date.

Another win for Verizon Wireless, expect the Droid, omnia2 & Storm2 to be solid as-well.

“Another win for Verizon.” ?! You douchebags act like these wireless companies are sports teams. They’re not. They all suck. They all are in business to get our $. That’s it.

I can’t remember the last time BGR did a phone vs. phone face-off.

What happened to Galvatron? Nicky Hilton?

And what the hell is up with these names… The Pure?? Imagio? IPhone is a grate name. So is Bold – iconic. Tour? Enh… Tilt, appropriately descriptive.

Sun Devils are gonna kill Beavers tomorrow. If not, I’ll stop posting hear forever.

@TechnoBeaver – Does it really upset you that much? I mean honestly, its great to post comments and question design/OS/etc but holy crap on a cracker if you stop posting here.

Frankly I could care less what a phone is called so long as it has a name. Its a personal quirk to me to name something a letter/number. Which sounds better i910 vs Omnia, or 8130 vs Pearl. Model numbers are great but atleast give it a name!

*Note, the Razzle is the exception to this rule.

I really wanted to watch this but it’s unwatchable.
Anybody who’s ever touched an HTC device the last few years, or even anybody that’s seen a review, knows how TouchFlo works.
And do we really need to know about the RSS and ActiveSync icons, self-explanatory.

I will say the scrolling looks much better that it has in the past. Very smooth.

    iPhoneLOVER says:

Well, every phone I have ever had has had a physical keyboard, the one I have now has a physical keyboard and a touch screen. I don’t use the touch screen because its not responsive enough to keep up with how fast I text. I tested out the iPhone and its super responsive and can keep up with how fast I text and then some. But, the Pro 2, and the Imagio probably could too… so yeah.

tour? storm? imagio? I can’t decide, heard all blackberry’s don’t work with vista. The curve’s keyboard too little of buttons, the tour? it looks the same, so touchscreen for me? I’d like to try the imagio I think but can’t decide. Any feedback? Please, I’m now dreaming about cell phones and it’s driving me crazy!!

HTC Imagio is excellent phone, easy to use and get used to and love the speed i was impressed with how well it does for a phone! There are some times where it is a bit slow but it’s a small phone accessing the internet so it’s not enough to get upset over. So far i would def recommend this phone!
