BlackBerry 8530, BlackBerry 9700 show up in Bell’s systems
Love your Bell service in Canada? Don’t really want to spring for a brand new BlackBerry Tour? Well, it seems as if Bell is gearing up to launch the BlackBerry 8530 pretty soon. Full retail price is showing up at $499 without a service agreement, but don’t let that scare you off too much — it should be pretty reasonable once a contract is factored in. We also have shots of the BlackBerry 9700 making its way into Bell’s system meaning that it’s likely we’ll see Bell’s HSPA network overlay launch with it in tow. As always, hit the jump for some bigger and better shots.

Does anyone know id bells HSPA coverage will be pretty much a overlay of their current CDMA setup?
Are they launching with AWS or UMTS?
I mean are they using the AWS band with their HSPA.. where did I get UMTS.
No, they are using same frequencies as AT&T (Band II and V).
Is telus getting these berries too?

yes blackberry releases the same phone in a different costume every other month. The last time RIM was innovative was when they released the blackberry pearl 8100 ooooh, it has a camera, anyways after that same things with the same features in a different box. What other company can do that on regular basis and be successful, so kudo’s to RIM now they just need a hockey team.

A lot of people would like to see the Hockey Team happening, but I think as long as the Bettman is still there it will just be a dream.

But on a serious note I am surprised it didn’t show on a Rogers news first.
look at the other phones on the list.. notably the nokia n97! looks like bell might actually make an impression with their hspa launch

I agree, but unfortunately, Rogers has fallen WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyy behind and it seems like they aren’t gonna do anything about it any time soon. They had an article on mobile syrup about rogers and how they offer the “latest data devices” but it’s all a crock of shite. I love GSM, but, I hate Rogers
i havnt seen anything official about telus getting the 9700 – but a few of the telus HSPA testers at the office have them

I know the Telus link is announcing that they are launching the iPhone in November, but the only way the iPhone will work on Telus is if the HSPA network is up and running.
