Palm Pixi launching on October 20th?

We just got word that Palm’s second webOS device, the Pixi, is set to launch on October 20th. This includes Sprint corporate stores as well as Best Buy locations presumably.
This intel is from new source but it sounds right. The question is, with the original Palm Pre, iPhone 3GS already out and the Motorola CLIQ, BlackBerry Storm 2 and Bold 9700 coming soon, does anyone care?

For the idiots who says WiFi is not needed on Sprint, you all are DUMB! Speed may be good, but once you go in to a Rev 0 area, non-3G area, or in a building you are screwed. Sprint has been know for horrible in-door coverage because of their PCS network. Not all the time, but most. And if you live in an area where you get only 1X data, and your buddy on Verizon has EVDO Rev A data, you will be wishing you had WiFi.
VZW, you are such a blowhard because you can’t prove any of what you said just like the previous assertion that 50% of Sprint calls are on verizon. If RIM devices are the hottest sellers for the company them the WiFi argument is moot being that before the late ‘08 CDMA carriers had few of them but they still sold well. You do know Verizon is getting the Pixi too so I guess they have a fail also
Jeez all I was saying is that, I am tired of CDMA keeping the Palm WebOS devices on exclusivity. GSM carriers could use some love too. But on another note, Sprint.. Please give up WiMax. Thanks
Jeeverz, the top 2 will be getting Web OS devices, this one may be on all 3 by the end of the year and next year all 3 will have a Pre.
I am sorry but, that is just an ugly phone..
I think Palm messed up on this one. They need to get more Pre’s on more networks. If people aren’t buying the Pre for $99 now, they’re not going to buy the Pixi, which offers less for the same price. This is a move that I feel Palm should reconsider. Save your money, trash the Pixi and come up with a Pre with more memory and a memory slot. Throw in a bigger screen and watch people flock to your phone. Forget the Pixi until the Pre is “uber” successful.
Engadget says ain’t coming anytime soon.

I expect this to be out soon, as in the next 2 months but probably before Black Friday
Apparently people are buying the Pre.

@Don Louie Cantone: If you read anything I said, you’d know exactly why it matters how much bandwidth the iPhone uses. AT&T IS constantly updating their network, but they can only do it so fast. Too many iPhones are being sold on their network for them to keep up. This would have happened to any network in the US that was exclusive to the iPhone.
So much for October 20th.
Went in to look at phones at a local Sprint store and asked about the Pixi and the sales rep told me it was to be released on Nov 1st. At least that’s what they were told.
it will released nov.15
