BlackBerry Desktop for Mac now launching October 2nd? VZ Hub gets discontinued

We know, we know — you are totally bummed about BlackBerry’s much-awaited Desktop for Mac software not launching yet. It’s definitely not coming in September. We have heard, however, that October 2nd will be the new general launch date for the application.
Seperately we’ve been informed that Verizon’s Hub “landline killer” device has officially been discontinued in all retail channels effective today.

Yep, the Hub is discontinued. I spoke to Verizon HR about it today. Current customers will be supported, but no more sales and no word on a replacement product.

Err, make that Verizon PR.
That was an intelligent comment. Congrats on being the first douche bag with an iPhone who thinks he’s gods gift to technology. Get a job and possibly an education for your lack of grammar skills. Jackass.
so sad how rim cant get a damn thing out on time anymore.
pathetic. go and learn from apple on this one rimm you are falling behind
Verizon Hub. It may have worked 5 years ago, but now there is no market for such a device. The iphone did the same thing and you could put it in your pocket. Way to go Verizon!
Yup, BBM is like what Nextel Direct Connect was 4 years ago. Everyone had it, now no one does. BBM will suffer the same fate.
@iphone
So you’re bragging about having Apple support for an Apple product? Really?
@iphone
You have got to be kidding me. RIM never designed the BB to be cool, its designed to be productive. The Blackberry is the most productive tool a power user can have in his arsenal. I should know, I walk around with two.
And BTW, if anyone wants to call me a BB fanboy, I used to walk around with a Blackberry and Iphone 3G.
I’m so glad RIM has finally made a version of BB Desktop for the Mac. I just hope it’s UI is better than it’s PC counterpart.
hey iphone fags, last time i checked RIM released MMS for the blackberry’s long time ago. didn’t you fags just get MMS support last week? so suck it, bitches!!
lmfao priceless.
First, you say “I walk around with a tour from my company…”
Then you say “Dane- go walk around in your 9-5 cubicle while I own my own business on 5th ave, thanks.”
So you work for a company that gave you a tour… and now you own your own of 5th ave. lol your a joke dude.
If you are going to lie at least stick to one story. lol priceless.
This is why iPhone users think they are the shit. No education and lack of intellegance.
The BlackBerry will be the better consumer device in 2-3 years. The iPhone will NEVER be the better enterprise device. It’s the same situation as Mac and Windows. This is coming from an iPhone and BlackBerry developer.
@iphone, You’re not a fanboy at all.
FYI… RIM announced at 7am ET today BDM for Mac will officially be released Oct 2nd at 1pm ET. It’s not a September release as promised but at least we now have a date and a time.
Below is the official press release.

Vz hub discontinued… Att homemanager next?
Firstly, the iPhone is a device for people who have nothing better to do with their time than buy hundreds of apps they’ll probably never use and games they’ll never really enjoy for more than 1 week.
Secondly, the iPhone is a great device in it’s own right. The hardware is still ahead of the curve for devices in it’s class. But don’t think for a minute that the iPhone is somehow superior because it’s a glorified psp with phone functionality.
You apple fanboys need to calm down and realize the iPhone is just a device and not a label of your superiority over others. Idiots.
“That was an intelligent comment. Congrats on being the first douche bag with an iPhone who thinks he’s gods gift to technology. Get a job and possibly an education for your lack of grammar skills. Jackass.”
Thank you Dane. I could not have said it any better.
Your welcome BF
