Confirmed: Verizon Wireless will sell the Palm Pre
We’ve just confirmed this with one of our ninjas: the rumor of Verizon Wireless passing on adding the Palm Pre to its line-up is totally and 100% bogus. We don’t have any other information to share at this time but hopefully those analysts stay where they belong — regurgitating the information we exclusively break.
@blackberry: There’s a good reason why Verizon doesn’t have the iPhone yet. It’s called the iPhone network effect. AT&T is still struggling to cope with poor 3G performance in NYC and San Fran because of all the iPhone users sucking down data. Verizon would like to avoid this on its 3G network, which is already close to being saturated (hence the *requirement* that all new smartphones have wifi and soon-to-launch wifi hotspots.)
So, you probably won’t see an iPhone on Verizon until you have 4G opened up in NYC, San Fran and a few other cities. It’ll be a 4G iPhone with hybrid EVDO Rev. A, LTE and wifi data access.
Why does everybody have such a raging boner for the iphone? It is over rated to the point of being pathetic.

If the verizon iphone is gonna come out once it’s in N.Y.C., San francisco, & a few other cities, correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t L.T.E. coming out in 30 city’s in quarter 1, 2010. New york, L.A. San francisco are already in the loop. Everybody knows it’s backwards with e.d.v.o. What about the 1x part? Cdma for voice. That seems to be the argument. where you getting your info?

The Omnia II should be out soon but you’ll be waiting for the Pre because it may not be out til the 2nd quarter
Omnia 2 I know will be out soon, but what about B7610? Because if pre is coming out Q2 2010 for Verizon, then it’s simply not worth it; by that time, there will be phones that can fly.
Also, what do you suggest an android based sucker or a windows one? I’m still in the dark ages in terms of mobile os’s.
I wonder when vzw is actually getting this, really want to see them get just so all you “get what you pay for” advocates can deal with sticker shock every month to get what’s included in the Everything plans. Some of them may just get a Select plan and the $30 data pack and call it one
