Windows XP-powered ITG xpPhone now available for pre-order
If you’re a glutton for the punishment that Windows XP on a mobile phone likely is, then ITG has exactly what you need. The “world’s first mobile phone that runs Windows XP” is now available for pre-order from ITG’s English website. Looking rather big and boxy (is this a new trend?), the xpPhone packs some impressive specs inside its brushed aluminum frame:
- AMD Mobile CPU
- 4.8-inch, 800×480 pixel touchscreen display
- QWERTY keyboard
- 512Mb/1GB memory
- Dual hard drives: SSD (8/16/32/64GB) and HDD (30/60/80/120GB)
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- WiMAX (optional)
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA (HSDPA/HSUPA), CDMA/CDMA2000, CMDA 1X/EV-DO, TD-SCDMA, TD-HSDPA
- 7 hours of continuous use with standard battery, 12 hours with extended battery
- Windows XP OS
The substantially-sized slider supports nearly all major 3G networks and can be configured from the ordering page to be compatible with AT&T, Vodafone or Orange. No word on pricing details or launch date for the time being, but is anyone out there thinking about taking the plunge?

That thing is going to get so hot durring usage!
Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).
I’d love to own one and probably will but I agree it will probably run hot and the battery life wont last.
I’m very interested. I’ve had several blackberry devices and they are great for real time emails. But the browser options (even using opera) aren’t good enough. I had an Iphone for a week before I took it back because the push email technology didn’t work and the browser still did not render the finacial web sites I use correctly(java is a killer). I have a netbook and a blackberry bold now, but this would be much eaiser to carry around than a netbook.
I don’t think it will replace the convience or even come close to the battery life of blackberry but it is perhaps the only cadidate i’ve seen that I would consider straping to my belt in addition to my blackberry.
I wonder if a Halo-port would work on that thing…Man, that is something…

“Hold’em off!”
“Run away Run away”
You don’t need a port. This thing is running win xp. One question remains, though… Is the display adapter and cpu powerful enough?
Looks like a fire hazard…
This shouldn’t be classified as a phone but as the worlds smallest netbook…as a phone this would suck but as a net book this would be really cool.
@tke789
What are you talking about? This would literally instantly become the most powerful phone on the market. The damn this has 100+Gb of memory…
Not to mention it runs a real computer OS…
Preordered mine last night. Man I can’t wait to rub this in to all of my friends that think there iphone is hot shit. This think will have millions of apps available for it because it has a real computer OS. The day this think is released marks the day that the iphone is obsolete. this is truely the most advanced phone ever made. I have a joke though. They say it is a phone, computer and gps device all in one but they forgot one. Weapon. hahaha this thing is huge
It still needs Wi-Fi “N” its going to become the new Wi-Fi standard anyways “G” or “B”.
I think the same thing about my older, but still AWESOME Samsung SCH-i760. I use it as a netbook on a daily basis…because other than size, the Windows Mobile device that it is does EXACTLY the same thing that my VAIO netbook does.
“100+Gb of memory”? Nice… … …
memory alone will not mean jack my friend. and if you’re really referring to hard drive space = power, time to edumacate yourself about computers in general…
how many of us can say say they have 4.8 inches in their pants ! lol
What about 3G antenna communication?
