Nokia 5130 XpressMusic gets official for T-Mobile; $29.99 after rebate
T-Mobile subscribers have a pretty solid new option today in the form of an affordable music-centric handset from Nokia. The latest addition to our Finnish friends’ XpressMusic line, the 5130 XM is an S40 feature phone with tween written all over it. Spec highlights include a music player with dedicated external controls, FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, stereo Bluetooth and microSD expansion. No, it won’t be knocking any socks off but as far as budget feature phones go, this little guy is a scrapper. Nokia’s 5130 XpressMusic is available immediately in two color combinations — black/red and pear white/aqua. On a 2-year contract, it’ll run you $29.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate in stores and online.

I love what T-Mobile and Nokia are doing with these smaller Expressmusic handsets. They actually play, almost as good as an iPod. Making them perfect with T-Mobiles’ pricing for teens that aren’t into the touch deal. Killing two birds with one stone. Saving parents money and teens pocket space.

Looks definitely better then 5310, which was on the market almost as long as iPhone. But my daughter wants touch, so Samsung Star, Lg Cookie and Nokia 5530 are on my short list so far.

i’ve had this phone for about a week now (Canadian carrier) picked it up for $70 as a prepaid phone.
its no smart phone but it’s a pretty nice phone non the less. very well built and has some weight to it.
i dont talk or txt that much and use it mainly to listen to music (the wife has the nano now) i would say it’s the best phone you can get for under 100 bucks that does not have a qwerty
