Nokia X6 Comes With Music and, more importantly, it Comes Without Music
Nokia’s first touchscreen offering to sport a capacitive display has received a mixed welcome from tech enthusiasts. On the one hand, it has a capacitive touchscreen. Yay. On the other hand, it’s a bit thick around the mid-section and, well, some consider it to be ugly as sin. We find ourselves somewhere in the middle — yes, it’s a bit thick and a bit ugly but it’s also a step forward in some respects and it could be a sweet little phone at the right price. The rub: the price is wrong. While Nokia’s pricing always varies from region to region, the X6 32GB was announced at €450 ($640ish USD). In the UK, it’s currently listed for pre-order by Expansys at a whopping £529.99 ($867ish USD) bundled with Comes With Music. Yes, that price is absolutely insane. The good news however, is that Expansys also has a second version of the X6 listed with 16GB of internal storage and no CWM for £344.99 ($565ish USD) — launching in February. That price is still a bit lofty but Nokia handsets are always priced better outside of the UK. In short, there’s hope for those of you interested in the X6 but uninterested in the bloat added by Comes With Music.

HOLEY SH*T! That phone isn’t ugly at all! The 32GB sounds like a great deal since you get 12 months of UNLIMITED MUSIC DOWNLOADS! It has a capactive touch screen, sleekness and sexiness, plus it’s playing one of my favorite Lady GaGa songs, Paparazzi! I need this phone!
The design is late 2004, not mid 2009. Its far from Nokia’s best efforts, and, capacitive screen or no, will suffer the same fate as Nokia’s other touch screen efforts.
First of all… That’s too much for a phone that looks average. Second of all, that song sucks(Paparazzi)!! Just read the lyrics!!
That looks almost exactly like a BlackBerry Storm elongated. Except since it has an OS with good apps, has balls.

It’s not ugly. It’s not the best looking out there, but it’s not fugly. And it’s not that thick. The only thing is that the back isn’t curved (like the almightly iPhone) so it looks thicker than it should.
And Comes With Music sounds fantastic if it comes to the US.

I certainly hope you are right. The 5800 has sold 7 million units. The N97 3 million in 3 months.

What’s with you guys and Engadget and the “chubby” comments? This is a 13.8mm this is a slender device, especially considering it has a 5MP autofocus cam in.
Oh come on BGR you are clearly what we call a hater, you would suck on this phone if apple or blackberry name was on it. If you don’t like Nokia devices don’t review them asshole simple as that i know you’re 1st with the info but why talk about things you don’t like? All Nokia phones sell and can do more than any other phone to date. And the price of Nokia aren’t bad if you can afford it buy it if not don’t! Do you know there are actually people with money that buy what there want not what there can.

Given that Nokia has sold over 10million touchscreen handsets in under a year, with only one model up until a couple of months ago, I would guess that they’d be pretty happy if this phone suffered the same fate
I think this is one of the most beautiful nokia phones because it doesn’t look like a squared toilet seat. It’s slick, simple and elegant. I might be getting one of these.
By ‘chubby’ do you mean ‘only 1.5mm thicker than the iPhone’?
But then again, since it isn’t a huge slab like the iPhone is it’ll probably actually fit peoples’ pockets.

Nokia are great,with them i always expect great things to come. I think what they are tryin to do is providing somethings for everybody.
I think the price is very good especially considering how you get unlimited music for free with the subscription to Nokia Music Store for however long the period of time is. Even if it runs $500 here, that’s still a great deal. I can’t wait until they launch their music store here in the USA, which I anticipate will happen when this is launched here for the NAM market. After all, Nokia did push the music store launch into 2010. It seems to me that too many people here in the USA forget the fact that they’re comparing the prices of unlocked devices to ones they’re so used to seeing in every carrier store which are subsidized beyond belief and hence everything else just seems ridiculously expensive. Too many journalists have gone there and these are the people I expect to know better.
I second anybody who’s questioning all the comments about the “chubbiness.” It’s 13.8mm. Those who haven’t seen it and are complaining; have you looked at a ruler lately? Those who have seen it, I just don’t get you. I’ve heard hardly any complaints about the HTC Touch Diamond2 being a little chubby. But this is chubby, and the chorus of bloggers out there is echoing it. I do believe that it could have been a tad bit thinner and I blame that on the way Nokia designed how the SIM card sits in the device, but given the fact that its only 1.5mm off the iPhone 3GS and its got a bigger 5MP camera module, which sits flush with the back, I have no qualms with it. It’s not TG-01 thin or E55 thin, but looks like a very nice size.
