I hope they fixed the static image burn-in problem like you get with plasma displays. If you watch video like on a TV you will never see it since the colors are always changing but with icons always in the same spot I’d be worried about burn-in. Maybe they are better now than the ones I saw last year.

AMOLED ≠ Plasma. no burn in on AMOLED, just kindof suckish Blue ranges
Every Verizon employee I have spoken to in the last 24 hours seems to have no clue about these supposedly required data plans for non-smartphones, so there’s a good chance that it’s all just a lie.
can this phone download Apps..
@ Champ, the only thing required for these phones is they need to be charged money for data. These will not work on the old Americas choice plan (As it charged minutes instead)
this phone will require a data package. vzw is in the process of modifying data plans that will be released very soon. this phone needs a $10 minimum data feature which I can only assume is basic html internet access.
It is coming, and will be required Champ. If you look at the Verizon document above under the Services section is states “Data package or Nationwide Premium or Connect Plan required for Enhanced Multimedia Phones”. There are two reason why employees aren’t telling you about this. The first is that Verizon is very tight lipped. They haven’t officially released the information or all details to all employees yet. The second is because there is something called Proprietary Information and employees are not allowed to leak upcoming things before they are officially announced. Even if they know about it they aren’t allowed to talk about it. It’s company policy.
Yeah, and you would have to purchase 3 new data plans for them that Verizon is going to pushing out later this year.
u need a data plan for this like a smartphone?!?
@ Brian,
Coming? It’s here, it’s call the Nationwide plan and it charges for data. See if you used these phones on the old Americas choice plan (though you can’t) you’d only be using minutes instead of being charged ($$) for data. So if anyone is still on America’s choice and you go to upgrade your phone you are going to be switched over to this plan, as 98% of the phones they have out now don’t support the old AC plan.
Looks alike like the samsung Instinct Q…
Dio, they will require more than that. They will require one of the new data packages coming, or a connect or select plan. The plans will be 25Meg for $9.99 or 75Meg for $19.99. Connect or Premium will give you unlimited MB. The Rogue will be the first phone that requires one of these data packages or the Connect/Premium plan. Just Nationwide won’t cut it.
You missed the most important question!
Capacitive or Resistive Touchscreen?
*Crosses fingers and prays to SpongeBob for Capacitive*
It’s resistive
if i get the 9.99 data plan but i have a state discount which is like 20% off would it be like not paying for the data plan?
again me: 20% off of $9.99 isn’t $0.00.
You’d still have to pay, I imagine.
Will the extended battery require a new back casing, or will it fit in the standard one?
Good luck getting them to discount the data plan. Freaking Verizon won’t honor my 12% discount for my $30 smartphone data. Even though it was there, I had it put back and it shows it online, they keep taking it away. As for the required data package, that seems a bit extreme, more freaking charges. Almost seems better to let people just rack up charges.
I know but if I have he plan plus the 9.99 it would be like not paying the 9.99
I think it will.
Wait, so how much money will this phone cost for a new upgrade (2 year)?! After the rebate?
I LOVE THIS PHONE! its all that i ever wanted!
With the every 2 it’s free, just pay 36 bucks and some change tax. I have it.
wait do how much is this phone, for a new 2 year upgrade after the rebate?
