CDMA-toting HTC Hero earns FCC’s love, yearns for Sprint’s love

It shouldn’t be long now, Sprint fans. Android, Google’s emerging OS that was once scoffed at by Mr. Hesse-if-you-please, is seemingly getting ready to make its debut on the Now Network. As for the vehicle with which it will likely hit Sprint’s red carpet, smart money is definitely on the HTC Hero. Known and adored for being HTC’s first Android-powered handset to feature the Sense UI, the Hero has just passed through the hallowed halls of the FCC complete with a CDMA/EV-DO radio in tow. In other words, the rumors surrounding Sprint snagging the Hero just got a whole lot firmer. For those who don’t recall, we loved the Android experience HTC has brought about with its Sense UI and we found the hardware to be nice and solid as well. Our main concern was with the guts of the Hero, or lack there of, but even still — we can’t think of a better way for Sprint to unleash Android on its subscribers than buried beneath the sexified Sense UI.

I can’t wait for the Hero, … But if Sprint would FINALLY come out with a touchscreen BB I would pass. Android is going to be beautiful I have to admit.

Being a Sprint Premier customer is great isn’t it???

Actually no….Youd be an idiot to buy anything off contract from Ebay. Im not waiting a couple months im callin Telesales.”

Actually you would be an idiot not to buy off contract via ebay. More and More people do it. With Sprint a phone off of ebay is fully warranted right at the sprint store for the first year for FREE. And if you chose you can get TEP as well.

I have bought about 10 Sprint phones off of ebay, mostly high end smartphones which New in Box fully warranted, all clean ESN and cost me no more than 10% over Sprint new customer pricing. One I had a problem with at 3 months, I walked into a Sprint store and they replaced it no questions asked (which is their policy).

EG: Factory sealed sprint treo pro, from sprint list=$550; from sprint new customer pricing=$200; on ebay from sellers with thousands of sales and 99.5% to 100% rating=$220 with free shipping (and no sales tax).
