PS3 price drop, Slim model launch imminent
Remember all of those rumors about a PlayStation 3 price drop and a new, slimmer model? Well they might not be rumors for much longer as just hours before Sony is slated to begin its press conference at Gamescom in Cologne, several leaks have sprung from a few notable retailers. FYE was first up when an employee snapped a pic of a new banner that has the 80GB model going for a “new low price” of $299.99 and the 160GB Uncharted bundle for $399.99. As for the slim model, Kmart.com is currently displaying a banner that announces not only a price drop for the PS3 as we know it but proclaimed the arrival of “a new exciting PlayStation 3″. Oh yeah, and did we mention that the PS3 Slim pre-order page is live?

Im not even a fanboy but the numbers and reults are clear. When Acclaim is threatening to stop developing for PS3, you know something is wrong.
Ken Kutaragi, riding high on the wave of the PS2, tried to do way too much with the PS3 hardware and as a result its flopping horribly.
Real gamers care about games and gameplay experience not Blu-Ray and hyped up cell processors. With the beauty of XBox live and the, the lead that it currently has in owners and games per system…its pretty much over for Sony this generation.
Well thank goodness Jason Bourne cleared everything up for us! Now there’s NO reason for anybody to buy a PS3!

I have a PS3 and I have about 10 games. What do you mean there are not games for PS3. And the only Blu-Ray Titles I own are 300 and Transformers.

Well.. I liked Uncharted and Infamous.. those 2 are great games.. but those are the only must haves on the PS3. ( I have all 3 systems).. Wii is beyond just collecting dust and the ps3 is rarely ever turned on… I much prefer the 360. #1 better controller, #2 Better online, #3 better games.
Killzone 2 was intense! But I play both PS3 and 360.

I wasn’t telling anyone what to get and what not to get, just stating the facts in relation to this price cut and the PS3s place in the current console war.
Ditto on the wii, I think most of it sells are just due to hype (me included), most people are only going to buy at most 3 game per year.. Where as on the 360 or PS3 gamers will buy 6-10 game a year…
