Facebook 3.0 submitted to the App Store
It’s time to whip out your rosary/tallit/tasbih/whatever and start praying like you’ve never prayed before. That’s right folks, Facebook 3.0 has just been submitted to the App Store. We’re not insinuating that we believe one of Apple’s App Store approval monkeys will roll his or her icosahedral die and have it settle on “deny the app without cause just for the hell of it” (actually, we are), but we just can’t stand waiting another day for the fifteen new features Facebook 3.0 has in tow. Hit the jump for the complete change log.
Thanks, Tony!
- The “new” News Feed
- Like
- Events (including the ability to RSVP)
- Notes
- Pages
- Create new photo albums
- Upload photos to any album
- Zoom into photos
- Easier photo tagging
- Profile Pictures albums
- A new home screen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications
- Add your favorite profiles and pages to the home screen
- Better Notifications (they link to the comments so you can reply)
- Quickly call or text people right from the Friends page
- Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call
If you’re a bit sour that Facebook 3.0 will not feature Push Notifications (which is to debut in Facebook 3.1), just remember what dear old dad told you before you went out on your first date: beggars can’t be choosers.

Finally!
So many whiny iPhone bitches. And too many non-iPhone trolls stirring crap up.
I’d love to see a way to upload video directly to FB, rather than uploading to YouTube, then placing it on FB. What a hassle.
@tanya, yeah that would be great for a straight upload to FB. I’m on it more than Youtube. I’m sure that will come soon enough. I am also hoping that the new FB 3.0 will go horizontal so tapping on the keyboard will be easier and faster.
Joebnsd likes this “thumbs up”
And which group do you fit into? I’m guessing the latter…
Hope it has ‘hide’ for the news feed. I use that the most.
Facebook is the one app that I use all the time on my Iphone. Looking forward for any update. As far as non-Iphone users stirring up crap. I have used Symbian,Winmo before the Iphone. Yes the Iphone can close then open apps faster than going to menu or task manager and launching the running app. Lets keep this post about facebook on an Iphone people.
Mad props for using “icosahedral” in a post!!!
Funny then that you write here about it. Or was it just your inner moron that came to life.
I feel you, who give a eff!
Amazing the iPhone haters out there. Try one you will change your mind. Obviously FB feels the need to put the iPhone version at the top of the development list because Android sux and not enough Pre’s out there yet(maybe never). FB 3.0 is off the hook.

@Diggy Dwayn
Funny. Nobody gives an eff about what you have to say either. But you seem to be compelled to say it.
HA, I love the people saying I am waiting for the app on android and on the pre, ha ha. Should have bought an Iphone!!!!
Why is everybody getting their panties in an uproar over Push Notification? Do you really need your phone going off every time someone does something in Farmville or whatever? Seriously, it’s not that hard to just pull out your phone and check for stuff when you have a moment.
Push = Battery Drain
@Freddy
Because lots of us don’t live on our phones and have an active social life. I don’t usually open Facebook just to check for messages and people always leave mail or comments and it would be nice to just push a button real quick to read and reply or comment back. I want to just be notified, whip out my phone, respond, and go back to my life.
Finally!!! Definitely worth the wait. Now I can’t wait till 3.1!
