I see so anyone who doesn’t agree with YOU msut be a troll? The hardware is cheap plastic and Android is slow and the on screen keybaord sucks. Get used to it.

Android is advetised as a multitasking phone and no matter what you do there will always be apps running in the background,that’s how Android works. i use advanced task manager to close all apps to make it less laggy but it only goes so far to improve performance. Just typing this reply on my magic is a PITA.

FYI: I’m running the 32A version. 288mb onboard.

I find my Magic’s keyboard to have way less lag than my iPhone 3G 3.0. I was constantly having to wait for the keyboard to catch up on my iPhone. An iPhone running no apps. I have tons of apps on my Magic and find it way faster than my iPhone 3G. Plus the predictive text is awesome on the Magic. Mine is a Rogers Magic which I guess is better spec wise than the My Touch. T-Mobile would be to blame for not releasing a model with better specs. The Magic is a good device, but I do look toward to better hardware on my next HTC Android phone…..

@ShootingBlue: Shouting Troll is not justified here. Most blogs agree that the hardware and the software are sluggish on the myTouch versus the iPhone. Especially the 3GS. You can’t call that a Troll post because the hardware on the iPhone does feel like a better build quality than that of the myTouch and after using the software on the myTouch I can say with no fanboism that the 3GS is quite a bit faster.

That being said, I am NOT a fan of every post requiring someone with an iPhone to chime in an “if it’s not an iPhone is sucks” post. I think they should stick to discussing the product on which the article was based.

I am an iPhone user but I do support the Android movement and may switch when it comes to a carrier that gives me better coverage than TMO. Nothing against them I just travel a lot.

Im sorry but i’ve owned the htc magic for the past 3 months and im still bugged at the crappy hardware specs and the not so good on screen keyboard.

If htc wants to be relevant they need to bump up the CPU, 528mhz is not fast enough for android! it lags when you have more then 5 apps open at one time.

android/htc needs to make the on screen keyboard more responsive because right now you have to tap pretty hard to get the correct word. Also the sides of the screen isnt very responsive. These are general problems everyone sees with this phone.

Although i think there are a lot of bugs, i continue to use it because i see the potential of android but they need to bump it up to be competitive.

Obviously your a troll. If you had actually used the magic you would have known that the hardware is very solid, Android is very responsive and the onscreen keyboard is more than usable, Have fun with apple telling you how you can use your device and what apps your allowed to have.

Now that VZ and ATT see $$$ with Android they now want a piece of the pie.

I’m very pleased with my purchase of the US version of this device (myTouch 3G). Coming from a BlackBerry it took a little while getting used to the keyboard but now I’m a pro! I love it more everyday.

sprint, at&t and verizon will all be getting android handsets this year. t-mobile just happened to be the first to embrace it. now the other networks are jumping on the band wagon because they see the popularity of it.

I looked at one of these the other day and was really not impressed with the hardware or with Android. Slow and the on screen keyboard was unusable. In contrast i find the iPhone onscreen keyboard to be quite good especially on OS 3.0
