Sensobi updates BlackBerry app, invites 500 more BGR readers to closed beta
Following the fantastic response to our earlier coverage and first round of beta invitations, we’ve been keeping up with the great folks over at Sensobi and watching their app progress. To recap quickly, Sensobi is a contacts and comms management app that looks to rethink the way you approach communicate with your BlackBerry. It provides history, rankings and a host of additional functionality in an effort to break users free of the typical stale contacts support found in most mobile phones. Preliminary response to its offering has been terrific and the Sensobi team has been hard at work updating the app ever since. As such, we’re happy to report version 1.4.418 is now available. Changes include the ability to sort contacts by last communication, greatly reduced memory consumption (anemic BlackBerrys around the world just breathed a sigh of relief) and a host of additional changes and bug fixes. If you’re already in the closed beta it’s time to update your current version and let us know what you think. If you came to the party too late to get in last time, BGR has you covered. How about another 500 invites exclusively for BGR readers? Just hit the read link to get started and remember, invites are first come, first served so get in on the action first and thank us later.
Clarification: No need to post in the comment section asking for invites, folks. Just click the read link, enter your info and away you go.

looks hot
This app was nothing great.
Looks great, I want in. Lol
i want an invite
I’m in
Thanks BGR!! Got my invite
I have had this for a while on my 8900. Nothing special, but it is better than the default address book. I’m updating now to the new version. Thanks BG!
I grabbed it but after reading the site a bit more, I doubt I’m going to use it. I don’t care for all that personal information being sent back to their servers.
I would love to be a part of this beta!! I’m using a Bold on AT&T OS 4.6.0.167
Got the invite! Thanks BGR!
Anybody noticed Boy genius did not report the sighting of Blackberry driftwood? Interesting
May be BG has his own pictures lined up?
Tried last week and removed – it can’t sort contacts by last name as native BB address book can. Am I wrong?
@brad
We’re sorry to hear that – we take your privacy very seriously.
We only report on your aggregate usage of the application, e.g., how many contacts you have, how many calls, emails, texts between yourself and your contacts you make, and what screens you open within the app.
We do not record any details of your contacts or the content of any calls, emails, or text messages. We do not share any of your information with outside parties.
In short, we live and die by your trust that we handle such sensitive data with all due respect and care.
We hope you’ll take a second look.
And let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ajay

i LOVE sensobi contacts. i really underestimated its purpose but it’s great. you can set up reminders that tell you how long it’s been since you talked to someone. now i never forget to call my grandparents!
Installed it and when I started it for the first time, the app crashed the BB. Had to do a battery pull to get it going. This happened three times.
I have a Tour on BES with 6K contacts….
Any word on a build for the storm?
@AlreadyWorks
Thanks for the feedback, we’re looking at adding a sorting by last name function in a future release. Please stay tuned!
Cheers,

I wanna try this!!!! It sounds great!
Got the invite a while ago and tried the app.
In my opinion, this app is basically a themed version of the default address book. I found nothing special about it and removed it 5 days after using it.
To me, the interface is actually uglier than the default address book.
One other complaint is that there is no Facebook integration. I cannot post to someones wall through this, when I can using the normal address book. So in a way it dumbed down MY normal address book functionality.
Using the “activity log” from the normal address book is better than the sorting that was done with this app. Sensobi was listing people that I contacted once like a year ago right on the top of the list.
I dunno, I was looking forward to this app, but I must have been misinformed about what it actually does.
I’m in, and the fact that the CEO’s checking comments gets a +1 from me.
I installed this a while back and have been using it. I don’t really use it any differently than the BlackBerry address book tho.
It really isn’t too spectacular for my purposes but I can see how it can be useful to others.
I don’t like how the contact info pages are organized. The layout is somewhat confusing in my opinion because of all the “add” “edit” buttons all over the place. Perhaps if there was just one “edit” button that could edit the whole page, that would make it look neater.
I find it funny that so many of you are asking for the invite – didn’t you read it? You have to hit the jump for the invite, they don’t send it to you here!
just deleted this today, slowed my phone down quite a bit, plus its nothing special, i wouldnt pay for it
Life before Sensobi was much nicer then Life after Sensobi is all Im saying
Within 20 minutes of having it, I deleted it, and stopped testing it… IT was THAT bad, crappy, and used so much battery
I don’t want an invite, I have an iPhone that rocks out with its cock out! TFW!
