TMobile just got the myTouch that has that new Android system like the G1, and another called the proTouch2 that works on Win6.1, both by HTC, and a couple of new Samsungs that are touch screen.

I have been with T-Mobile longer than a lot of you out there. When I got with them they were Voice Stream. They have gotten better over the years but they seem to want to get the teens to be on their network and forget about us grown folk! I stay because of the ceap plans and it works well here in Kansas City! But I love Verizon EV3 and AT&T is what my family has so I may jump ship!

I think a lot of this is because T-Mobile’s network is very limited. For instance, here in Michigan, T-Mobile operates only in the major metro areas and that’s it. Whereas, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint have built their networks out further than just the big cities. It’s T-Mobile’s own fault because they have the spectrum for the rural areas, but because they are strictly PCS, they would need to build about triple the number of towers to be viable against the likes of Verizon and AT&T.

To all above posters, thank you for the good diction and intelligent points raised and discussed. This is unfortunately rare in the comments section of this, and too many sites.

I have been a T-Mobile (USA and UK) customer for several years now, and can not speak more highly of their customer service staff (USA, especially). I should also like to illuminate T-Mobile USA’s monopoly (upon which I feel they fail to capitalize) on free (UMA) international roaming. This is an amazing service which would net them far more customers than from their reliance on cheap tariffs in the USA. If the company can find the right line to toe when pitching this potential to customers, it should be a winner.

I do not see T-Mobile’s 3G (AWS) being a strong selling point, due to the differing hardware requirements of standard USA 3G (850MHz and 1900MHz), and manufacturers’ reticence.to bring out such equipment for only one (small) provider. Hardware does drive service (see iPhone). T-Mobile can, and will, benefit from a robust EDGE rollout with tight UMA integration.

T-Mobile definitely needs to get the Samsung Galaxy i7500. An Android phone that has a Camera Flash, 3G, Wi-fi, and large internal storage would make T-mobile very powerful. The Samsung Galaxy would be the flagship of T-mobile.

I’ve been with T-Mobile for seven years. I’ve been tempted away twice with the iPhone 3G and then again with the iPhone 3GS but I’ve stuck with them because of their fantastic customer service. (You can always use an iPhone on the T-Mo network.) I also like the UMA wifi calling.

I’ll be very happy and the first to buy a 3G BlackBerry when it comes to T-Mo. Keep up the good work T-Mo.

I left Verizon after 12 years for TMO for 15 months and back to Verizon for about two years. I can say my short stay with TMO was good! The pricing was great and the phone selection is what sent me packing (pre-G1). TMO’s customer service is awesome but was unable to stream with my BB unless I used WiFi. My VZW Tour is awesome were the lack of WiFi is not needed since the data speeds and coverage has not let me down yet…

I love T-Mobile’s GSM with WiFi calling.

However, I’m sticking with Sprint’s SERO plan for as long as I can. Nothing beat’s that.

However, if T-mobile can come out with a similar plan, or anything close, I will switch in a heart-beat !!!

The only reason I’m with t mobile is for the fact that I have the unlimited mins for 49.99. And with the the 30 data plan I think that’s pretty sweet compared to what people at verizon and spring pays. Not to mention since t mobile doesn’t have great phones you can go to another carrier and take their phones and put it under t mobile.

I can tell you their employees are feeling the pinch. Bobby D’s version of Operational Efficiency = Nickle and Diming employees to the ground as of late.

I know a store manager who is being asked to run a store Monday through Saturday with a total of 130 man hours. He alone consumes 40 of those and still has 5 employees to staff. You do the math.

The only reason I’m still with t mobile is because of the unlimited 49.99. And with the the 30 dollar data. Plan which makes it under 100 bucks which is pretty damn good. Not to mention if I wanted to buy a phone that t mobile doesn’t have like the tour or iphone I can go to craiglist and buy one and it will work find under t mobile.

@HD. That is going to happen soon. T-Mobile has been rolling out 3G like crazy these days. For example,during the last 2 days they have rolled out 3G in Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester, NY and Bakersfield, Santa Clarita and Simi Valley, California and Milwaukee and Chattanooga, Tennessee. So balls are rolling on the 3G front. They need to keep it up and launch a decent advertising campaign highlighting their 3G service.

I’ve been with tmo since 02 and their cust service cant be beat, i went tmo for the sidekick but now im grown and have an unlocked bold on their network. Never had a problem with their service or their network. Rock on tmo, Sooner or later u will trump sprint.

I have to disagree with Zach. I am not sure subscriber growth slump will continue during 3rd quarter. T-Mobile has released new Dash,Couple of new Curve, My Touch, couple of samsung qwerty phones and Touch pro 2 is coming. I can see an uptick in customer numbers.

For a company with 33.5 millions customers T-Mobile has a decent phone lineup these days. Same can not be said last year.

T-mobile is fantastic. I switched to them for the Android G1. This phone is stunning. Amazing. And to think that almost all android phones from here out can be better. T-mobile just needs to stick riding Google’s coat tails, because the phone in my hands can make iphone’s drool.

Have you even seen the there line-up lately?? Come on, it is up to par with the other Big 3 and getting better. As for Sprints flagship phone the Pre is a joke. Last report I read is that the iPhone 3g s and the myTouch tied and blew away the Pre. The Pre to me is a kids toy that should have been made by Fischer Price. By the way did you hear that yesterday the myTouch launched and do to the popularity it crashed the system.

Hi Zach: I think the myTouch 3G will appeal to a much greater audience than the original G1.

From a purely asthetic POV, it looks better and feels better. Young tech savvy adults seem to gravitate towards the whole touchscreen concept and I think this will sell better long term.

It’s true that T-Mo doesn’t have devices with the allure of the iPhone, but franky who does? From a numbers standpoint, the iPhone sells well but is far from being the best handset ever…

T-Mo should really step up their marketing game this quarter and push their value message along with a hot phone like the myTouch and I think they will fare better next quarter. If not, maybe DT will sell out to Telefonica or Vodafone? LOL

I think that most people (like me) stay with t-mobile is for their price plans, which is lower than AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. I think a lack of a major phone iphone (at&t), pre(sprint) in their collection is probably hurting them. The G1 is lack luster at the most and the G2 is probably what G1 should have been and the G2 should have been the Hero. My contract ends this Sept and after 10 years of being a tmo customer I might be switching. C’est la Vie Tmo.

I think someone at the top for t-mobile America is asleep at the wheel. If they had an “exclusive” phone that is actually appealing maybe that would truly turn them around.
