First live shot of the Motorola Shules hits the scene

Mr. Blurrycam is back and this time around he’s brought an extra special treat along with him. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Motorola’s savior. Maybe. We showed you renders of this bad boy and dished some specs yesterday, and now that the flood gates are open it’ll probably keep pouring. To refresh your memory, the Shules sports Android, a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keypad, a 5 megapixel camera and plenty more. Of course the actual handset isn’t quite as sexy as the renders but bear in mind, this is an early proto so plenty has already happened since it was assembled. Hopefully. Excited, Verizon fans?

Thanks, dimitar!

The render was so much better looking — renders always are though. Hopefully it looks closer to the mock-up when the phone is released.

The chin on this is very small…I didn’t even notice it at first, and I loathe all of HTC’s handsets with them.

Has anyone noticed that the ‘render’ had 3 buttons on the face while the picture has four?
    Os, is it only me?!!

Hey Mr. HD, the screen is rumored to be 800×480 (like the enV touch) which is better than VGA, let’s hope that the rumors are true because this could potentially be an awesome phone!

Looks like a big device. BTW the Tour sucks! Overheating (_the botom, not the battery) short battery , (what’s the point of a 528 mhz processor with a small 1400 mah battery? Really. And the browser is actually a downgrade from the curve in many respects. The curve at least gave you a decent text veriant of a web page, and the tour try’s to give you the whole page, and only after 5 minutes or so zooming in and out from page to columm view you get somewhere. Plus, I couldn’t believe how bad video playback is. Blurr, blurry. The 4.5 is much sharper then then 4.7. Go figure!!!!
Sorry for getting off topic there, but hey, Grrr what’s your experience?

With the Dimensions 60.00 x 115.80 x 13.70 mm, I can’t see this as a big device unless you consider the iphone a monster in size. The iphone’s dimensions are 62.1x 115.5 x 12.3 mm, and considering the Motorola has a slide out physical keyboard and a bigger screen I’d say Motorola really did well with this design. For those who keep complaining about the keyboard layout its still better than a virtual keyboard.

Small screen ripple in bottom left corner when I press the trackball. Loose battery door that’s fucking annoying. Battery life is decent on mine. Mine heats up at the bottom also, but my hands aren’t burnt yet. I’m keeping it!!! Its the best thing verizon currently offers and I’m not waiting any longer. When something exciting catches my eye, my tour will be on ebay and I’ll pay full retail.

It was worth the wait because it was what I expected. I wanted a cdma bold and this is pretty close.

As ugly as a hat full of asSHOLES.

What was that god awful thing that Moto trotted out a few years ago to save themselves? The thing with the swinging screen thingy. Please, someone, put Moto out of it’s (our) misery!

Wow. I am definitely looking forward to this bad boy. I’ve visited a Verizon store recently and tried all the phones it had displayed including Blackberry Storm. Boy, none of them were really attractive as this one. Typically, Moto phones feel a lot better in hands than their looks on the pictures.

    Go Moto!!
